Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe only thing I can add is that because I was coming from the older fimware the player formatted itself when I upgraded to the not final 2004.6. Also if it matters I got my M6 from NewEgg, it is the Dane-Elec version. My daughter has one I got her for Christams and I liked it so much I had to get one for me. I have not upgraded hers since I got it. I believe hers is at 2004.3.

Your player is not dead. that happened to me once and i nearly gave up but thanks to dfu tools, u can easily revive it. Do you realize from reading that player cannot die from a firmware problem, it seems to me it has to die physically. I wish you all the best. If you add me as a contact in msn then maybe i can help you.
Good Luck
N.B. Its not deadR.W.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsJust paste old m6.EBN file and resource.bin files like you would in a normal upgrade - upgrade and downgrade same procedures.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 Poststgranados, I never had to use DFU tools...and I always upgrade to the latest fw. Many users don't read the instructions properly and thus "bricking" their player. It's not Meizu's fault.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsAre you sure you're downloading the actual firmware, not just a skin? It's not the same! DFU Tools is for recovering a dead player, when nothing else seems to be able to fix it (soft reset, hard reset...). You can read about it in the FAQ, or search for 'DFU' in the forums.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHey, I resent that!
I've been upgrading ever since I got my M6 in April last year or so and only recently have I had to use the DFU tools. The first time, I upgraded from the 'unofficially released' 2.004.6 to the officially released 2.004.6 (coming from 2.004.5). Same as always, but I had to 'DFU it'. Second time, I 'upgraded' from the first 2.004.6 version to the official English one. Both times I was using a modified resource before the upgrade, though I can't imagine that has anything to do it.
Hurrah for OpenneSS!

I think Updating is one of the only flaws with the M6. It's just unpredictable.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhy there is only up to 3.99 APE support? 4.01 requires better cpu or something? I have a lot of music encoded in Monkey's Audio 4.01. Is it planned to be fixed?
