M6 Problem

For the moment, i'm really pissed...!
I got my m6 yesterday and today it is dead...
I installed the latest firmware how it has to be installed..., then I wanted to put it on and it didn't work. There was a white screen and it is still a white screen, I've tried everything, resetting, DFU tools, everything, but it doesn't work. Now, i put it in my computer and it finally recognise it, but i want to go into the files, but there pops an error up that i have to format it, sow i did it, then i want to look into the files, and there was NOTHING anymore in the file..., sow i'm really sad for the moment, if it isn't working within 2 hours, i send it back and they must give my money back!

sow I hope you have a solution!

are you certain you installed the right version of the firmware? there is TP and SP versions...
if that is done correctly it will automatically format the player, this means all your files will be erased, this is wy they always advise to backup your files before updating firmware.
After it automatically formatted you can start filling it up with music/videos/images.

hope this helps.

by backup i mean your personal music and video files, thats wy i said "your" files.

you can find the latest firmware here: M6 Sp\tp 2.004.6

be sure to use the correct version: S or T
look on the back of your player: SP = S, TP = T
most players today are SP, since it is the newer version.

just decompress the files and put them in the root of your player: for example in f:\
there is no need to put them in a subfolder...

i hope this helps.

I did what you said, but it doesn't change, it's still a white screen..

some people reported that putting a very old firmware version on it worked, after that you can update again if you like... maybe try an older firmware version?

When I connect it to my computer, he tries to install the driver, but it said that there is no driver, so I can't install another firmware version

if you are referring to the dfu driver, point your computer to the folder where you installed the dfu tools package, for example c:\program files\dfu\driver
the computer will then automatically install the correct driver for you.

Dear all,

I have encountered the same problem. after installing the new firmware (M6_S2004.5) on my M6 I got a white screen. Finally I achieved to turn off my M6. But it is dead, Just a milliscond flash of a white screen.

So I downloaded the DFU tool (DFU TOOLS FOR M6SL). By pressing M and the Power-on button simultaneously and connecting the M6 via USB to my computer, I managed that my PC (P4 with XP Home) recognised as new hardware.

So far so good - I'm not able to install the drivers even when I proceed as described by roelandb. The drivers are not found and I'm not able to transfer the resource bin file.

Can anyone help me?

Many thanks in advance
