    M6 Sp\tp 2.004.6

From Meizu BBS, contains a fix for a battery charging problem (not that I was aware that there was one.) No other fixes mentioned.

Should not format if you are updating from 2.004.4\5 but will format player if you are updating from an earlier version. As always be sure to backup any important files before updating. If your player does format you will need to recopy resource.bin to player once format has completed and restart.

    Will accept 2.004.5 skins

i hope this means the "update music library" that occurs each time you charge your battery...

i'm not updating just yet, until i find out more of the things that have changed.

update: I installed it anyway, the old skins work with it(eros in my case)
    my first impressions:
    - when turning on after charging "update music library" is the same :'-(
=> as before (it takes several minutes for me)
    - when connected to usb as mass storage, with no files changed the library update is faster,
    => VERY GOOD !!
    - when files are changed, it still takes several minutes to update the library
=> as before, (i noticed ogg and wma tags read a lot slower than mp3 tags)
    - no other special changes i can find for now...

just in time, my Meizu doesn't charge correctly anymore. Hopefully this fixes the issue. If not, i'll buy a mp3 player with replacable battery (or at least a service point in Europe).

Oh, what was the problem with charging you were having? Does this fix it?

I had my meizu connected to my xbox 360 for about three months/used my w880i as a music player in the meantime and the meizu purely for external hdd to store movie files etc. However, I never knew the 360 keeps charging the Meizu even when the 360 was turned off, so it seems to have screwed up the battery.

The meizu would only charge for about an hour and then discontinue, even though it was charged around 20%. I even tried depleting the battery and deep charging it, which didn't fix the issue.

I'm currently recharging the meizu using the new firmware. Will report back if it has fixed the above mentioned issue (think the battery is just dead, will see).

Apparently, the meizu is supposed to shut down charging when it's full, but it never did that. May be one of the issues they tried to fix.

This firmware really works. The battery charging problem has been really fixed.
Problem was--The m6 gets fully charged within 1 hr. It looks fully charged but in reality its not. The previous firmware must have had misjudged it and therefore i always get decreased battery time, it might not be obvious (like 12-14 hrs continuous playback). The new firmware (2.004.6) actually takes 2 hr to fully charge the m6 and u get the 20 hr or more continuous playback.
N.B. im still using my 2.004.5 skin. I just extracted the images, im not sure if i had to do that.

Since I updated to 2.004.5 I recognized the charging-problem at my SL too. The battery is faster empty than before...
So is there an SL version available?

what do you mean by this? is there an open source version of this firmware that people can change themselves?
if no: how could there be a "hand made" version?
if yes: where can i find how to do this myself?

Just used this firmware. The battery was full before update, and right now it's weird becuase with this new firmware it's charging over 30 minutes and still going!

This means that 2.004.5 and previous versions didn't charge the battery good? I guess right now the battery should last longer?

    What do you guys think?

there is no open source version, and someone might have hacked the actual firmware

but this version is just like beta I assume

i think all they changed was the indicator, so if you leave your player long enough at the usb port, even with older firmware, it will be charged ok, if you unplug it as soon as it sais that charging is done, it will not be fully charged.

Is there a battery problem with the 2.004.4 firmware? I don't want to have to format it if there isn't a problem with the firmware i have.

I had noticed that my charge indicator seemed to go down faster. I've updated. Hopefully it works.

stranded, i realize that it actually takes 2.5 hrs regardless of where the battery was previously but it does charge it properly. also, im 100% sure the battery lasts longer.
