1. the stuttering that happens sometimes at the end of songs
2. PLEASE PLEASE make it possible to adjust scrolling speed, and if possible, make the scrolling like the SL where the speed depends on how fast or how slow you slide your finger across the pad. i have like 300 songs on mine and it takes FOREVER to get to the bottom
that's all i can think of.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 Posts1. Agreed.
2. What? That kind of scrolling only works for e-books, and not songs. If you push the <<| or the |>> button it will take you to the center-bottom-top of the list! Try it!

Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post1.
Better cover art support. (At least it should be independent from id3 tag album names, or have a way to deal with album names that contain special characters reserved by the filesystem)
2.
A play mode where after the currently playing album ends, the player automatically moves to the next album.
3.
Video at 25 fps.
4.
Avoid video-audio out of sync problems, by dropping frames when needed and/or re-syncing playback at the next keyframe.
5.
Library should not update when no new songs were added.
6.
Problem with library automatically updating when the M6 is turned on while locked.
7.
Again, fix the end of song stuttering.
8.
Fix the "slow distortion at the middle of song" bug that happens very rarely (I only heard it once so far).. or was this already fixed?
9.
Seamless playback
10.
Fix the library limit of 128 tracks per artist and max of 2024 files. (or has it already been fixed?)
11.
Change the way how the M6 cannot be used while connected to the PC.
12.
Just like pinkamoree, I would like to see the new kind of scroll (currently only for e-books) applied to all the other scroll environments.
13.
Add a way to adjust screen contrast and saturation.Last edited by Traps; 01-30-2008 at 02:57 AM. Reason: typos, and added no. 13

Yes, these are annoying. Just when I was showing somebody my new M6SL, we had to wait a minute or so for library to sync because I had the unit on "hold" before turning on. It was kind of an anticlimactic demo.
While #6 makes no sense as to why it even happens, #5 may not be possible unless the M6 can do some sort of checksum for the library rather than scanning the ID3 tags of each song (which I assume is happening).
The library update should at the very least be and option in the user settings to be manual or automatic.
Rockbox seems to have gotten this right and it's open-source.Last edited by felixperro; 01-30-2008 at 07:50 AM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts1: Yea, it's a bit of a gap in there, but are you sure it's one of the worst problems to ask a fix for?
2: Go to the artist list, locate the album you wish to play, press the play button.
3: It's a limitation of the M6's hardware. What it cannot do, it cannot do. Only some software optimizations took it to 20FPS as well.
4: True, true...
5: Yes, it shouldn't however in a removable disk drive functionality, how on earth could the software detect you've put any music files on? Or deleted any? Felixperro, what checksum on the playlist? The M6 just would wanna decide if it has to be updated as the current is probably already old, there is nothing to compare it with. Unless reindexing. My guess is that manual playlist updating was taken out cuz of techsupports and returns that it doesn't read files from the less experienced...
6: Just check the lock or don't use it :D (it always just bothered me really when I used it)
7: Yea, true, but to say everything as well, I'm quite sure that the stuttering MP3 songs aren't fully right. If you re-encode the songs with a high quality encoder, they don't stutter.
8: Well, if you've only seen that bug once, then I believe it would be better if Meizu would spend their time on fixing other bugs instead.
9: Yea, I guess many people need that. On the other hand you should take a look at some posts here, someone had an idea to put all the song parts into one and showing the current song with a timed LRC subtitle file.
10: Nope it hasn't been.
11: If it's connected to the PC, you can use the PC to listen to songs, no?
12: Well... previous-next buttons
And don't forget you can hold your hand over the pad under the top and above the bottom button, that scrolls quite fast too.
13: Well, the SL's screen is just the way it's like I guess
Hope this contains some useful things
P.S.: felixperro, Rockbox would be a too big project! Noone wants to do it. Also, Meizu deliberately made the decision to not give a manual update function.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAll I want is last.fm support, or some kind of logfile so I could code a sync tool. But it seems like meizu is not interested in this feature.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostHey, thanks for the reply

However, I have to disagree with you in some of those, and I'll add some extra comments to the rest:
1. Not really the first priority, no. But it was the fist that came to my mind, has it has annoyed me a lot lately. The best would be if the new firmware would support all id3 tag versions properly, including embedded album art.
2. No. My problem with this is that often when I remember to go choose the next album, my M6 has already turned itself off. I usually listen to music while at work so this happens a lot. I would like to just choose a first album, and then have my M6 going through my library automatically after each album ends. I've seen this in other players and music playing software.
3. I remember someone mentioning that the iRiver Clix can reach 25 fps with the same processor. But officially the Clix only does 15 fps, so this might not be true. Anyway, although I don't consider it mandatory, better framerate is still high on my wishlist.
5. It's possible if the software stores a hash of the last directory tree listing (including modification date-time for all files), and then just compares it to that of the new directory tree after the player is unplugged. If the hashes are the same, then no files were added/removed/modified. This could even be filtered by mime-type, so that only music files would be considered.
6. Yeah, but that's a workaround. The problem still exists, and it's annoying.
7. Well, maybe M6 will not stutter with files encoded with the Fraunhofer codec (I did not test it).. but it sure does when I use latest stable version of Lame, which is one of the most established encoders. I'm not one of those who think stuttering is M6's biggest problem, but it should be fixed.
8. It's not on the top of my list. But it's a known bug already reported by other users, and it should be fixed.
9. Don't get me wrong. Seamless playback is just a great feature that would be nice to have, but it's not something that I really need or demand. I think bugs should have higher priority than complex features like this one.
10. Ok, if album and file limits haven't been fixed, then this should be moved to no. 1 in my wishlist.
11. Yeah, but I'd rather use the M6. I understand that it's not a good idea to allow the player to be used when contents can be changed from the PC, but what if I just want it to recharge while listening to music? Maybe if it was only be detected as an USB device when turned off? Anyway, this might just be an unreasonable idea..
12. Yeah, I know.. but I think controls should be a bit more uniform throughout different areas of the player.
13. Hehe, you got me there.. yes, unfortunately it is. But on this thread, someone reports differences in screen color balance with different firmware versions. So maybe it's possible to adjust that using software?

Thanks for elaborating on that "checksum" idea Traps :D . Instead of filtering by MIME-type, it could also just check the "MUSIC" directory.
Also, when I originally mentioned Rockbox I was trying to focus on the fact that the database updates in the background after the player is running. It's nice, but even in the OEM firmware of my other DAP it waits to start the player until reindexing is complete just like the M6 does.

my friend has an iriver clix, and i am so jelous because one, the gui is awesome, and two, it supports flash, i mean, wouldnt that just be amazing if the meizu m6 could have flash support, that means, you can download games from the internet and put it on, i am personally quite keen with the idea as i do not like games that is already there.
SO PLEASE MEIZU, GIVE IT FLASH SUPPORT

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI've tried to do that ever since i got the player but now I realised you gotta leave your finger there for at least a sec before it starts scrolling. I must have given up after 0.7secs :P. Thanks for that it's so helpful when you got an 8G player completely full of music
, it scrolls pretty fast.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsupdating the library takes around 5 minutes for me right now, so i would at least like to disable it, i can always play my songs from the browser if needed anyway, so i would not mind having to live without the library.
