    Quoting from the FAQ:
    "Formatting the Player
Press and hold the ON/OFF and the “|<<” buttons together and until player turns OFF itself. You will need to load firmware files before this."

I think it is not working (it freezes when shutting down?). I still have these folders on my M6.

The reason i want to this is. That i used my meizu to transfer files and folders to a mac. Just afer i did that, my m6 was working fine. But when i tried to delete these folders, i copied on my m6 before, windows (and linux, also) gives me an error message. But thats not the problem, the music libary update funktion wasn t working anymore (the srceen froze).
So i decided to upgrade the firmware. But know after the fw upgrade and i got these problems:
the "loading..." screen takes way longer than usual
m6 freezes when i trie to shut it down
m6 freezes when i trie to update music libary
i also cannot delete those folders
and i also cannot play song when i start them over the browser

so i thought i might solve these problems to clean up the m6 by formating it, to get rid of those folders. I also had the ".Trashes"- folder form the mac on the m6, but i was able to delete this one.

i got a problem once and did the same thing u want to do. i formatted the player thru windows and put the firmware on a empty drive. upon restarting, i got the white screen of death. But we all know dfu tools can solve that, so i did that and revive my player and everything was back to normal.

i dont know if there is a easier way.

Try deleting those files through the M6's browser (if theres not too many). Or try a hard reset: "Press and hold the ON/OFF and the “>>|” buttons together and until player turns OFF itself. All data will be lost."

so you suggest to format with windows and then put new firmware on and then use the dfu. or can i use directly the dfu, to fix this?

More files? That's weird. Too bad you cannot delete folders...

that sound like some virus. anyways, yes i think u should try and format it thru windows then put the firmware on (resource.bin and m6.ebn) the empty drive. Turn it on and see what happens. If it doesnt work, we are here to help you. I dont see y you should go thru what u are going thru.
