UK Meizu users with no FM + Low sound

    Hello everyone,

    This is my first post.

I bought an Meizu M6 today at 12:30, I thought that it had radio from reading product reviews, it did not, also sound output was very low.

Searched this forum for the sound issue, a firmware upgrade seamed the way to go.

I downloaded the SP firmware from the Meizu site.

Then followed the instructions in FAQ section of this site.

The low sound issue is now fixed and sounds amazing, and an added bonus FM radio is now active.:D:D:D:D:D:D

I am a linux user 100% so no doubt will be contributing my findings.

    Chris.

When you talk of low sound was it due to the 100dB limit or a fault of the firmware?

Ive done a lot of research on DAP's over the last week and Ive come to the conclusion that the Meizu M6 is the one for me but as I spend a lot of time in noisy environments like walking on footpaths next to congested roads or on a bus with people talking having the ability to pump the volume above the restricted dB to levels that Americans can enjoy is of major concern to me.

For example I recently tried out a Samsung Z5 with the volume restriction of 5mW(in the US they can get 22mW!!!) imposed on it. For general walking in quite areas it was fine but when on a Bus it was difficult to listen to the music over the noise generated by other passengers.

If anyone can help me with this then I'll have no problem getting it from Pixmania and then do any firmware hack to get over the EU imposed volume limits.

    Low sound

I am a long distance lorry driver, with the original firmware listening whilst driving was nearly impossible.

Changed the firmware and the difference was amazing, I was also considering returning my miniplayer, was not happy about the thought of doing this as I had put a lot research in to choosing my DAP, as I am linux user and 50% ogg/mp3 user.

I also changed my headphones to Sennheiser CX 300, the noise reduction and bass are fantastic.

Very pleased that I never bought an ipod.:D

I've done the the RC4 upgrade and....wow sound is really great (maybe to much) now and radio activated .
I use to have it on vol 28 (33 was max) but now vol 16 (40 is max).
    I'm using the Sennheiser CX300 though:D .

BTW Pixmania is a quite expensive seller in my opinion. you could do better down there in UK:D

The CX300's go directly into the ear canal which irritates me but that explains why you have the volume set so low.

I actually got one from ebay(still waiting) from a seller in Germany for €145/4GB.

Oh I AM NOT FROM THE UK.....I am from Ireland....our currency is the €uro and we kill leprechauns from their money

If you are from england, you must have the dane-elec version of the miniplayer, and so if you updated your m6 with the normal firmware you would loose your warrent, you can only regain your warrent by update your miniplayer with the official dane-elec firmware downloadeble on this site, wich has volume up to 35 and NO fm radio.

Hi, get firmware from Meizu Me and re-upgrade your player.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!
