As this is the Chinese version it will set language to Chinese as default. To change back to English got Menu-10 Down to Settings -7 down to Language.

if you have obtained an APE file, this is a Monkey's Audio file. Monkey's Audio is a lossless audio compression codec . Since it is lossless, there is no quality loss from the source audio once it is compressed. It achieves a compression rate of about 40%. It's main advantage over lossy compression formats such as MP3 is obvious, the quality of MP3 is not near as good. However, the files are much larger than simple MP3 files which is why MP3 files would be more available online than APE files.

You need to have a player that supports Monkey's Audio. Foobar2000 is an excellent advanced player for a lot of audio formats.

Also if you are interested in burning these files to CD as Audio CDs, you can do that if you download a plugin for Nero Burning Rom.

Since Monkey’s Audio is a lossless compression method, it is not readily comparable with lossy compression methods such as Mp3, Ogg Vorbis and AAC. The two different types of formats have different aims. The aim of Monkey’s Audio is to preserve an exact reproduction of the original file in as small a space as possible. The aim of lossy codecs is to discard sound data in an intelligent manner so that it fits the amount of space (or bit rate) specified by the user while retaining as much quality as possible.
Since Monkey’s Audio preserves the entire quality of the original file, files tend to be significantly larger than lossy compression formats such as MP3 or Ogg Vorbis. A typical Monkey’s Audio file will use around 600 to 700 kilobits per second (kb/s) for CD quality audio. MP3 allows the user to select a bitrate but typical bitrates chosen are 128 to 192 kilobits per second which allow good, but not perfectly identical, quality.
