My translation (feel free to correct me):

The last 4 changes highlights the difference between 2.004.4 and 2.004.5

    1. Support for APE 3.95 - 3.99
    2. Fixed incorrect song length with VBR MP3
    3. Fixed a problem where the player would freeze if an APE file was played after a VBR MP3
    4. Fixed a bug where the enter key would quit games
    5. Fixed a bug where the player sometimes would not turn on after a shutdown
    6. Fixed a bug where recording would stutter the first few seconds
    7. Fixed a bug where fast-forwarding would be disabled when playing music
    8. Fixed the background noise while there is no music playing
    9. Select the song in the bottom then incorrectly transferred to the top bug fixed.
    10. Support for CUE files
    11. Text files can skip faster now
    12. Auto text file skipping can be automatically adjusted 0-40 (?)
    13. Fast 4-line skipping for text files (?)

First poster, please upload firmware as attachment.

stonecoldd - As it's on the offical site it must be the final version.

"pupu"? Is that the Cantonese word for "stutter"?

I have updated from the previous (2.004.4) firmware and the new update didn't format my player. I have also tried one of the songs from a stuttering topic, and it still sounds like crap, my left ear hurts

update: i have also tried it with another killing-noise-mp3, and still the same
update2: battery icon seem to have reduced :D it looks smaller.

    1. Support for APE 3.95 - 3.99 - wan't it already supported by 2.004.4?
    2. Fixed incorrect song length with VBR MP3 - this was fixed in the 2.004.4 too if i remember correctly
    3. Fixed a problem where the player would freeze if an APE file was played after a VBR MP3 - same
    5. Fixed a bug where the player sometimes would not turn on after a shutdown - ??? anybody had this issue?
    7. Fixed a bug where fast-forwarding would be disabled when playing music - this was fixed in the first firmware update for SL
    9. Select the song in the bottom then incorrectly transferred to the top bug fixed. - this was fixed before

so what's the deal? many of these were fixed before... here's the changelog of the 2.004.4:

    1. Support for 3.95~3.99 APE encoding added.
    2. Fixed bug related to VBR MP3 files not displaying track times correctly.
    3. Fixed bug related to when a VBR MP3 track finishes playing, and then goes on to play an APE file, the crash that happens.
    4. Fixed bug related to when hovering in menus, pressing "enter" resulted in an option to close the player? (not quite sure about this one).
    5. Fixed bug related to when after one manually close down the backlight, player unable to display screen again. (on M6, this is the function when you press and hold the menu button).
    6. Fixed bug relating to crashing when voice record folder is opened.
    7. Fixed bug that causes music to not be able to fast forward.
    8. Fixed bug when a song is on pause, the "pupu" sound the player makes when you slide the volume up or down. (LOL).
    9. Fixed bug when in "all music" folder, when you are at the bottom of the list, and you tap once more downwards to go to the top of the list, the crap stuff that is left at the bottom of the selector strip (LOL).

Only the last 4 fixes are new for this version... Well it's not really a totally new version since the version number only increased by 0.1

i don't think you can, because the resource file is different. you have to wait until skin makers convert their skins for the latest firmware.

In the beta thread, there was someone mentioning a possible battery performance problem since 2.004.4. Is this true? Has anyone experienced it?

I have been playing with an ebook today and I realised that when you slide your finger on the touchpad constantly (from top to bottom over and over) the scrolling speed increases continuosly! So it's easier to navigate to the middle or the end of the text

I just ordered my player and read about the problems with stuttering...

So the stuttering on this one is still present?

the cause of the stuttering is the embedded album art right?
maybe they try to "play" the embedded image in some mp3's and that causes the stuttering...
meizu either is very ignorant about these complaints or they never heard of embedded album art before...
i am hoping in a future firmware they will just read the album art out of the mp3 itself, and not a seperate file, and the stuttering will most certainly be gone at the same time they do that, becouse the cause of the stuttering is mostly that exact thing...
for now i would just convert all my music to ogg or another format wich does not stutter...

is there still a maximum amount of files you can put on the player(like 2048 or something) ?

is there a schedule available where we can see the upcoming formware releases?

    A- there's still stuttering for mp3's
B- there's stuttering for mp3's regardless of album art or tag version (though significantly decreased with i think 1.1?)
    C- only limit's capacity
D- schedule? i don't think ANY company has a set schedule for updates...
