    Only M6.EBN file fimware update

    Hi,

I have just my M6 4G S1010 for a couple of days. I want to keep the dutch language and only want to unlock the radio and unblock volume.
What if you only use the M6.EBN file and not using the resource.bin file?
Any clues? Have not encountered this topic yet in on the forum.
    Pls can anybody advise me

M6.EBN is the firmware, and will void warranty.

You can install skins (resource.bin), it will likely not void the warranty.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

So you want to put only the M6.EBN to keep your dutch language setting ... good idea I think

I don't know if it can be done, never heard of it, but i think you should try ^^

Just one thing : Look if your firmware is a 1.010 or a 1.010.2, this is very important.

The image numbers are not the same, so if you put a 1.010 M6.EBN with a 1.010.2 resource.bin, you won't see anything on your screen because Your Meizu coud not launch images.

So take a M6.EBN with the good version

I am looking in to recovering the files right now. - that USB 2.0 connection is not that fast.
I can tell you that there is a .bin file on it, but it might be borked since I loaded quite a lot of data on my player. - but have only written data to it once.
But my recovery method should also find it if it is hidden on the player.
Well - there is a .bin file, but according to my recovery software its a 2 gig file...
    no .ebn

But you may of cause get other results on a new player.
I think I will make a full recovery looking for 262file types instead of only .bin and .ebn - and since I had to add there hex codes manually I might have done something wrong.

Replacing the firmware to activate radio and lift volume limits will also unable the dutch language rigt? As the meizu firmware is not available in Dutch.

My (dutch) player with Meizu firmware has no Dutch laguage available.
    I prefer English anyway though

if the resource bin is in dutch, and it is compatible with the firmware file, then the menu should still be in dutch. but i think the player will not be able to recognize any dutch characters in the tagging of the files. (i'm not sure if there are any special dutch characters... )

    hmmm interesting...
I thought that as the players that come with Dutch menus are all Dane Elec, if you replace the firmware with the Meizu original also the language is set back to the original(chinese and English)

How will you have a Dutch radio menu for example if the Dutch player didnt have any radio fucntionality?

    I am confused :s

Ducht characters are the same as english.
I thought of opening the resource.bin file (whitch comes with the firmware update S1010_RC4_EN and will activate radio functions unblocks volume restriction) with a text editor en replace the english menu with dutch. But you can't. I'am not really into programming maybe a great challenge for a dedicated programmer.

    Job,
I believe that all M6 have a radio functionallity. But only for Europe (EEC) it has been inactivated for tax reasons (and volume has been restricted), I have read on the internet.

    Thats correct
the player does have radio its just not activated.

My point was this: though an insignificant issue, how can the radio menu be in Dutch if the Dutch firmware doesnt contain the radio option? Doesnt this mean there wont be any Dutch menu for the radio either as the radio and so the radio menu are mussing from the Dutch firmware?

I might be wrong though... you hould try and see what happens. You can always reset the firmware completely...
