how to operate the resource editor?

i want to change the skin of my m6sp player so i've downloaded some skins and the resource editor from some links here. but i don't know what to do to make the skin that i want for it to become my player's new skin. someone here

said that i only have to open up the resource file and i did. but how do i import or export files and save it? i just want to change the skin but i really don't know the steps how to. can anyone please help me? and how do i operate the changing of settings? through my player or just through my laptop while my player's connected to it? would really appreciate some help. thank you guys.
