Take any of the PodCasts on http://www.cbc.ca/quirks/podcast.html
At the end of playing each MP3 the final 1 sec or so gets repeated 4-6 times then halts... on my 8GB MiniPlayer SL

No Stuttering here
I downloaded the indicated Canadian Podcast and listen to it. I fast forwarded a few times to double check.
I did not hear any stuttering!
Comparing the play back between the Meizu and my PC I concluded that the Meizu MP3 stops playing less than a second too early. Though this effect is hardly noticeable.
I have an 8 GB SP player with FW 2.003.4 (displays as 2.004.4).

Hey I heard it! The 'Arabia' example works. During the last second I heard two sharp 'chirps' in my left ear.
I noticed another thing: when you start his song using the browser it take considerable more time before it actually start playing. It seems as if the player needs some more time than usual to start this song.
Since I have never heard this before I think that there's some relation with the compression settings or the way this song is compressed. Maybe it's the bit rate, I am never using bit rates higher than 128 kbps?

yeah thanks
I have never listened to a so huge noise before. I do have stutter, but not to
compare what the the "Arabia" song can do with my ears.
Now I know why someone sometimes calls this a killer noise.
The Canadian Podcast (Microbial Hydrogen) do have stutter on my player.
Just like what ''petervabe'' has described it. Quiet different.
Also never heard that kind of stutter before.
My stutter is something else. It like in the "Arabia" song but it's without the
loud sound. The sound is just like following the volume level.
But the "Arabia" song should be a good example for Meizu.
I have played the files on my cheap MP3-Player too, and no problems here so....
you know the rest!

The thing is... stutter is not just the encoder used, is also some features in tags... but mainly long silence ending songs.
This is weird and a bit sci-fi to think... seems that for any kind of errors is added a noise. Arabia had 2 or 3 noises, when I remove tag it ends with just one noise... that one corresponding to the long silence ending the song.
... isn't this weird.
I hate this song...
... I've listen it thousands times and in every possible situation, doing all what I can do to discover where is the problem. :D... no success yet!.
I download lots of new albums because I'm a collector and reviewer. Only entire albums and all of them ripped by the same person, I don't keep different bitrates or encodings... except when there's no other option.
I don't rip by myself... then I'm more vulnerable to stuttering... and believe me... I have just few albums with this problem.
Maxey... I never keep songs in 128 kBps either... except when there's no other option. My favourite is 320 kBps for MP3.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI'll give you another one: it's nine inch nail - 1 ghosts I. It's under creative commons sth like that licence so it's legal for me to upload it here.
320kbps with album art.
http://www.loken.pl/~gremdek/01.%201%20Ghosts%20I.mp3
tell them that fast forwarding makes the stutter disappear so they have to listen it throughout.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI got the originals from the NIN site as well, and tried it on my M6: stuttering indeed! But you know what? It felt as if the seconds went faster. Lo' and behold! The M6 says it's a bit over 3 minutes, but Amarok says it 2.48!!! And yes, the last 13 seconds or so, it stutters! So, the M6 thinks the song is longer. Should be finished after 2.48, though. But because it's not, it keeps repeating it until it's passed those 3 minutes and a bit.
Really weird...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsActually, it's a quite understandable thing, and if it's really just a misextracted length parameter, it should be easy for Meizu to fix...

Unfortunately is not that easy... this problem lasts for more than 1 year and a half!!! (18 or more months)
More than a problem of MP3 structure it's more like a frequencies problem in MP3, which arises when a song ends in a long silence, I'm talking of a natural silence which is there due to artistic reason, i.e. authors wanted to end a song with such silence.
Due to this Meizu engineers haven't been able to solve it after this long time.
