    Dead! M6 is DEAD

It wasn't working for about a week and when it started working again it said 'No Resource...Please upgrade again' so I upgraded the new firmware last night and it was working just fine for that time. But this morning, it wouldn't even turn on. When I press play/power, it just flashes but no 'Loading...' like it always did before it stopped working.

so what can I do? I really don't want to use the DFU tools yet and The hard reset seems a bit much.

    HELP PLEASE!

Don't worry ~~you could just put the resource.bin and M6.bin file into the M6

If it doesn't work . Read the notes or do this ress and hold 'FF (>>)' and 'Power' buttons together for 8 seconds, to initialize OS to factory original settings.

Even doesn' work. Then DFU only

    GOD BLESS YOU~~~

Funny story, I lost my usb cord so I couldn't do anything for weeks. But alas, I have found one lying around! Back in action.

Okay, I tried the FF>> button for the 20 seconds, and the hold 'FF (>>)' and 'Power' buttons together for 8 seconds but nothing excluding the little light flash. So I guess it's DFU Tools then. However, my player doesn't show up at all on the computer. And how do you use DFU Tools?

You use DFU tools by reading the FAQ and or searching for the dozens of threads on the subject.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

I tried it and obliviously I'm doing something wrong because when I get to the installation part, where it says to 'specify which location' I want it to search, and I click 'Browse' and 'Desktop' (where I put the DFU tool RAR file) it won't let me click 'Okay' or it doesn't recognize it as a driver.

Is the RAR file supposed to have folders in it (because it can't open on anything, just keeps asking me to save) or to be in a different format or something?

The RAR file is supposed to be extracted using WinRAR, which you can find a 40-day fully functional evaluation version of here: WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files.

(I should've kept playing that game instead of coming here and answering questions that could easily be answered via google)

after u extract the files from the rar file. then u install the dfu program. now when asked to specify location, go to c: \program files\meizu\dfu tools (directory where the dfu tools is installed). that should install it

Hey, don't mention it. But next time google first before you post questions. I do and it saves me a lot of hassle.

Alright, I got everything done, did everything right, so why does it say 'Failed to verify the firmware'? I checked around, and don't see much on that.

    Should I change the firmware?

That's what it says when the dfu server says when I press 'Download'. But anyway, I tried to replace the new firmware with the older version like other posts have said, but the same thing is happening. Do I just keep doing it until it works?

u should not place the resource.bin file in the directory. its the m6.ebn u should put in the directory (c: \program files\meizu\dfu tools)

    To no avail

    Guys,

I have been reading multiple forums here and still i am stuck. I have extracted the resource.bin and M6.EBN files in the same folder as the DFU tools. After connecting the player to the pc and being recognized I am getting to the step where I go to the folder where the DFU is, but can't go any further because the OK button is inactive. Initially i had the folder in documents, then I created it in program files/meizu, but still the same results. I tried it on 2 different XP computers(Vista doesn't seem to go the same way), and I am dead at the same point. I don't know if the DFU tools are not good(is there a different one, the one I have is downloaded from this forum). the files were extracted repeatedly to make sure the unzipping worked, so don't know what to make of it.

Any subtleties or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Cris
