hi and thanks for reading !
after updating my firmware ( it was the right one ) the player worked fine for 2 days ... now i am having a big problem because it does not turn on anymore
( just a short flash )
here is what i did so far :
holding down the play button for at least 10 sec ... no changes
holding down the play button + enter for at least 10 sec .. no changes
holding down the play button + m button for at least 10 sec ... no changes
connecting the player to pc ... -> short flash ... nothing happens ( pc does not recognise the player ! )
what happend before it did not work anymore : i started the player ... loading was on the screen then meizu font ... then it turned of
since the player is not recognised by the pc , i cannot use dfu tools ...
right now i am just connecting the meizu to the pc and will wait for 2 hours .. but please maybe there are some more things that i could try ... this really sucks , i only had the player for about 1 month
i am sure i used the right firmware ( sp versions since mine is sp ! ) and after all it worked with new firmware version for 2 days !
thanks in advance ... and i hope somebody can help me out !!

None of these are valid reset options. The third option power\play button + M is used with the DFU Tool and must be held down through the whole recovery process. If you let them go at any stage the player will drop out of DFU mode and the recovery will fail.

Where did you read that a reset only takes 10 seconds? You should thoroughly read the FAQ.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

LOL, may be a bit difficult as his player is not working.
taff, Hold the >> button and press Power\Play button will reset the player to factory default settings and delete all files from the player. This will only work if the player is off to start with, it will not work if the player is frozen.
Hold the << button and press Power\Play button will low-level format your player deleting all files including resource files. Once done you will need to connect the player and reload the firmware resource.bin and restart the player. Once again the player must be powered off for this reset to work.
You mentioned that you can not use the DFU Tool because your player is not detected by Windows. The DFU Tool is designed to be used when your player is not detected that is the whole purpose of it.
To use the DFU Tool the player must be in an off state. Press and hold down the M button, then press and hold down the Power\Play button so that you are holding both buttons pressed. You can not let go of either button at any stage in the recovery.
With both buttons pressed connect the player to your PC which should find new hardware (DFU Device) and ask for the drivers. You will find the drivers in the folder where you installed the DFU Tool. Once the drivers are installed you should be able to run the DFU Tool and it should find your player. If it does not find your player close the DFU Tool and then restart it. If it is still not recognised by the DFU Tool try reconnecting your player again remembering to keep both buttons pressed.
Do a site search for firmware version 1.009 or 1.010 as they seem to work better with the DFU Tool than the newer firmwares.
Also do a site search for DFU Tool and read up on DFU Tool usage so that you understand the recovery process before starting.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsBefore using Dfu tools youd better make sure that whether or not pressing Enterkey can solve the problem.
Officer instruction says that hold it for 10Secs.but it is just an ideal time.the right way is "hold EnterKey.even if it takes 30secs or more.till it flashed on your screen and auto-power off.then restart your M6.then everything willbe alright."
if it still no changes after you hold it for 1 minute.sad to say that the onlything you can do would be the DFU.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIt really worked !! thanks alot for the nice help !
one thing to add:
it did not work on my laptop ... it just worked on my desktop computer !
some things i want to ask :
why does something like this happen to my meizu player ?
i "downgraded" my firmware back to 2003.2 ( the one my player came with ) .. is it safe to update to new firmware ? or should i leave it with this one ? (after all this happend with the new firmware ... )
why does it work with my desktop :P and not with my notebook ??
is there anything i could do to prevent such behavior ?
is there a a dfu tool for linux too ?
thanks alot
safed my day !
