Dane-Elec firmware question

Hey guys,

I'm new here. So, here's the explanation.

I've been wondering about something. I have a Dane-Elec Meizu M6 4GB SP in black (bought from North America) so it doesn't have the volume and FM radio issues. But, I want the new firmware for this player, but the Dane-Elec firmware that Dane-Elec has up for download is the European version (FM radio disabled and volume limited to 33-35 something).

I don't want to void the warranty of the player by updating to the newest MEIZU firmware, S2004.

Here's my question:
So, is it possible to take the official MEIZU firmware and put on the "Meizu by Dane-Elec" start-up image and the default Dane-Elec background from the Dane-Elec firmware, making it look like the Dane-Elec firmware?

do you want to make them think it is teh old dane-elec?

sure you can make your own skin with new startup images with the resource editor on this page (How To: Modify/Skin the Firmware)
i guess the same goes for the default backround
or you could just select an image from the image folder

however i don't know if that's of any use for the warranty

Yesterday I took the default original MEIZU resource.bin and put the "Meizu by Dane-Elec" start-up image and the Dane-Elec default background from the Dane-Elec resource.bin file.

I then updated my MEIZU M6 with the official original MEIZU S2003.2 M6.EBN and my resource.bin file. I went through the steps of updating the firmware, then I started up the MEIZU, after the inital start-up after finished flashing the new firmware.

It was a success! The start-up image is the "Meizu by Dane-Elec" picture and the default background is the default Dane-Elec background. The chance of tricking the Dane-Elec people into thinking it's official Dane-Elec firmware if I need warranty is probably 50/50, since I can't change the language options.

But, my firmware keeps the Dane-Elec logos intact. That was the result I wanted.

Thanks for showing me the Resource Editor.

Also you might want to edit the resource.bin in the About section. I believe Dane-Elec throws in their lines there too.

Dane-Elec has thrown in their line in the "Important Tips" section of settings.

The Dane-Elec version says "Please Access www.danedigital.com to Upgrade the Player with the Latest Software". The official MEIZU version says ""Please Access www.meizu.com to Upgrade the Player with the Latest Software".

I have edited that line in the resource.bin file to show the Dane-Elec website, and have loaded that on to my MEIZU Dane-Elec player.
