to be honest, i learned to live with this by now, but i still think this problem should have been fixed a long time ago.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsA bit OT but yes! EXACTLY! The iPod it the biggest piece of crap ever! I never recommend it to anyone, not even to my worst enemies...
This isn't a problem that you should learn to live with. This is like a four cylinder engine that sometimes only works on one cylinder. Think any car maker would get away with that?

DaremoS are you sure of this . I do not have this problem at all but i experienced it after getting a file from a member of another forum to test the stereo output of MP4 player, it was MP3 and it stuttered o my SL at the end of track, no stutter on the Teclast T50 or PC or Ainol v900 players, so, as the SL has wolfson surely this is a firmware problem and not hardwre as you quoted - what do you reckon. Also i do have MP3 files that i converted from CD and all those are fine, but mostly WMA for my collection

Stuttering is a problem with many sources: something have to do with the way Meizu connects to the audio decoder and something with the decoder itself. If you follow this topic and others, you'll see that lots of users have claimed to solve the issue using some software, other correcting some tags and some other solutions. The fact is that my "Arabia" sample have never been corrected. Test it here
I get more sure when I read the answer sent by a spokesman of Meizu here in this topic here. Beside of this the issue have been discussed here for more than a year with no solution.
I had my doubts concerning M6SL due to the Wolfson decoder... I believe that using some of the miracle programs you'll solve the issue with the "Arabia" song in your M6SL, but not in the non-SL.

@makd511
Can you please read this here where I mention you?
Thanks in advance if you try to fix your failure file without recoding it....
This is to discard that Wolfson decoder is affected.

I am NEVER going to read through this whole post again! It goes on for, like, forever!!!
In the hope that perhaps some new readers start from the bottom I'd like to sum up:
The 'stuttering' is a disputed phenomenon but so widely described and documented in this forum that it cannot (and SHOULD NOT!!!, Dane-Elec) be ignored!. Some of the non-believers here are downright condescending about the stuttering issue but let's just say; not everyone has the same preferences. I for one would like to hear how artists intended their work to be heard - NOT HOW MY MEIZU FUCKS IT UP!
Stuttering is very nicely described in post 277 by SNix. An elaborate description of the possible cause can be found in post 286 by DaremoS, including links to an "answer sent by a spokesman of Meizu" - but the argument is disputed.
In the previous 289 posts(!) I repeatedly found the argument stated that the creators of Meizu wouldn't care about this petition. As pals stated (I just love how 'think' is misspelled so profoundly): Beyond the point that perhaps the creators are incapable of reading English (which I find hard to believe since they eventually managed to make a quick start guide and a GUI in English... but perhaps they had a little help there?) I am not entirely sure that this necessarily is true.
Now, I should have been taking notes from the start when reading thru it all but just take my word for it: there are quite a few examples of potential buyers refusing to buy a Meizu before having this problem fixed AND disillusioned buyers returning their Meizu. In turn, that will (hopefully) piss off retailers and they might remove Meizu from their product line if it happens often (wishful thinking, I know).
marleyfan (post 10), Uschinator (post 245), and moody (post 279) seemingly gave up on Meizu and went for other players - as well did several other posters that I didn't make a note on.
Next I see the 'word of mouth' issue: I will do my best to prevent my friends and family from buying a Meizu until this is fixed. And this thread alone is possibly the worst commercial I have ever seen!
SNix makes what looks a lot like serious a threat to me:
So for any one sucker they get to buy a Meizu they may lose 10-50 as the word spreads?
(NO) SOLUTION:
I think this problem will never go away, sadly. That is also stated by DaremoS (post 284) although I do not believe his reasoning is entirely waterproof!
So buy something else or live with it (the upsides outweigh the downs for me).
To keep hope alive, continue signing this petition and email Meizu like crazy - EVERY DAY - as suggested by The Torminator (post 227) ("I think Meizu will be glad to
see more mails from members here").
And please note that The Torminator actually got a (positive) response (post 255) even if he wonders if he was made out to be this year's April fool.Last edited by montyoto; 11-26-2008 at 12:12 PM.

There is a solution, ogg = no stutter, flac = no stutter.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell,.... As stated repeatedly in this thread: conversion is not a solution - it's a work around (say what you want about quality but at least converting mp3's take up valuable time)! So, the player is incapable of doing what it is supposed to do.
I use my player primarily for FLAC files but occasionally I stumble across my older mp3 files (wizdom comes with age) and the problems I get shouldn't be there. It's that simple. Why should Meizu be the only player in the world to have this problem?
By the way - the gaps when playing continuous FLAC-tracks (also discussed on and off in this thread) is very lousy too. I'm hoping for a full sweep firmware before China miss fires the next space launch.

lol, have you even tried one of those ultra-cheap knockoffs? Besides, with the launch of Core i7, processing time is not so much of an issue anyways.

Just because one part of Chinese electronics has minor issues doesn't mean you have to assume that all of China's technology is faulty.
I don't understand the point of all this pointless complaining. It's a small issue for you, since you mostly listen to FLAC's. I'm pretty sure that 80% of people with a PMP listen primarily to mp3's, not a lossless format.
The stuttering isn't even Meizu's fault, it's the Philips audio chip in the M6. I'm not an audio engineer, nor a great programmer, so the problem is probably harder to solve than it seems.
Bottom line: If you care so much about stutter-free music, then why not have common sense and switch to a different player?

Many of us have done that... I've loved from the first time the sound of my M6 (and my M3)... but I really wasn't able to handle the stutter at the end of my music (I download lots of music from the net... so I have high risk of stutter) so I return to the provider my M6... I kept the M3... which I finally gave as a gift to a cousin.
I'm enjoying my Cowon D2, Ramos RM970, Onda VX858 and ATJ-2135... I would like to have my M6 or M3 back... but I cant afford to convert my favorite music in MP3 to OGG.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAnd that's what I finally did - get rid of this piece of cr*p...

Looking back there were quite more issues with the M6 than just stuttering:
- you have to do a workaround to get Album art displayed (my mobile phone does by default...)
- you have to do a workaround to display movies as none of the standard movie formats is supported (my mobile phone can show movies by default...)
- There have been more severe crashes than I ever experienced with any electronic device I have been running. And these crahes always meant a complete loss of data

With album art, you can just sync with WMP 11 in MTP mode for songs with album art. Works fine for me.

If you really hate the player as much as you seem to, then why not donate one to the Rockbox developers, They could use a player for testing...
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
