I had the same problem by installing the wrong firmware and now i have the white screen. I don't know why but when i pluged it in the DFU would pop up saying it found new hardware, But now i plug it in an it shows up as a removable disk(E and it still has music, pics, video, and so on. All my music has been deleted of the player, But still have that white screen can anyone help?
    Thanks.

If you can access it with your PC and the player will power on and off try reloading the correct firmware as a normal update and without the DFU tool.

Sorry i really don't know how to do any of that. I downloaded the duf tool and thats about it. Do you mean i sould download the original firmware and move those two files into the root directory?

Yes. Download the correct version (S2.xxx for SP players, look on the back of yours, though it is most likely an SP player... and T2.xxx for TP version players). Then, extract them from the zip file and place the M6.EBN and resource.bin files into the root directory... into the white space underneath the music, photo, system, etc. folders, NOT inside those folders.

Then, unplug your player and turn it off, then turn it back on again. It will update your firmware, then tell you it needs the resource file again. Don't turn off the player, just plug it back into your computer and drag the resource.bin back on one more time to the same place, and unplug the player. Turn it off then turn it back on again and it will update, and finish turning on. That's it.

If you get the white screen but can hear the buttons being used, you used the wrong firmware. Remember which version to use and keep track of it when you go to get a new update.
