Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIf there are still players ending up permanently dead after they ran perfectly fine for months, they aren't doing their job as far as checking for these things. Go check out the hundreds of posts in the english Meizu forums... they don't even reply with anything other than "reset" or "dfu". They don't even give an explanation as to why it happened. They should know if they tested it well enough. Go check any other small device and tell me how many times you had to buy a new one because it just stops working for good. I never have had any... even my computers have not had permanant deaths for no reason.
Do you even read the posts people make in this, or did you somehow miss the 30 lines of problems that could be considered bugs? A feature not working the way it is supossed to is a bug. Not just MAJOR problems. In the end, the list can be devided into "MAJOR, fix now!" bugs and "minor, fix AFTER the major bugs" lists. I think we can make a good assumption to how something should be working, as well, so they look fine as being considered minor bugs (a few might be major).
A bug is a bug, no matter how big.
By the way, players being bricked for unexplainable reasons is a MAJOR bug. It doesn't happen to everyone, but read around and you find it DOES happen a lot. Just because yours hasn't died doesn't mean "no bug, lolz :D ", it just means you haven't had the misfortune of suddenly losing $100+ (or $200+ in my case), and your mp3 player. Try thinking about how you would react if yours just stopped, and all your hours of toiling did nothing to fix it, and you can't return it. You just get a $100+ paperweight.Last edited by DChronos; 08-25-2007 at 08:19 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsCurious attitude of Meizu towards firmware updating
Thanks for the welcome BobbyQ. I'm glad you found my post entertaining.
What you say about it being a challenge to know precisely what is going on, due to not being Chinese, makes sense. I'm aware that cultural differences play a big role in how certain behaviours are interpreted. There appears to have been a dramatic breakdown in communication after one particularly zealous bag of wind, let rip. They now appear to be freezing out their English speaking users. I don't think this is a good policy.
I would be happy to participate in a community effort to better the software, but there is still the underlying problem of the non-responsiveness of Meizu. Without some change on that front, I don't see how any outside contributions would help.
Furthermore, I suspect that Meizu has promoted a cleaner, whilst a bemused programmer has been handed a mop. I did think of a few other scenarios to explain the farcical situation with the updates, but of those, that seemed the most likely explanation. So, even if they did start engaging, I don't know if they are prepared to consider employing different policies, as they seem to cherish some strange ideas of their own.
However, if this situation did change and sanity was restored, the player has potential.
I'm speechless.

Could we all stay on topic now? The point of this thread is not to argue about the bugs, but to list the bugs that occur in detail. Really, by adding unecessary content to this thread makes ErrOr's job harder.
If you want to speculate about other issues, please start a new thread, thanks.Current Rigs:
8GB iAudio 7 > Not in use
4GB + 32GB iAudio D2 > Alessandro MS-Pro
Sony MZ-NH1 > Headroom Total Bithead > Grado Labs PS-1
2GB Meizu M6 T1 > Not in use
8GB iPod Touch 2G > Shure SE530

The "end of song stutter" is the main issue for me. If they were to fix this, I'd be so happy.
IPods FTW
Owner of the Meizu MiniPlayer SP (White) 4 gig ~Wish I wasn't, but I got a iPod Touch now and everything is all good. The songs don't stutter

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsBlackstar,
For my part, the buglist I presented was boldly labelled, bulleted and seperate from the rest of text. I don't think this should present any difficulty for ErrOr. As for the discussion, far from being off-topic, it (to my mind) addresses the crux of the problem. Putting increasing amounts of energy in the wrong direction, will not help matters when the problem lies elsewhere.
I'm Speechless.

DChronos, I see no reason why you address me here. You surprisingly reply to something I said "@speechless" and quote stuff I didn't say. I see no connection at all.
Disagreed ! I understand this thread as a discussion place for the need and the technical ways of collecting bug information, not the bugs themselves.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsBecause you addressed both him and I as if we didn't contribute to this thread, when both of us did, Speechless more than me. Also... why don't you go back and read your own post because what I quoted came right from your post. Maybe you also need to slowly reread the first post, too, because this:
...is absolutely wrong.
This thread is to list the bugs that are there so Err0r can send them to Meizu. Now why don't you stop posting stuff in here because you haven't contributed a single thing to the purpose of the thread. All your posts have been on par with:
or arguaing with the people that ARE contributing to it. Contribute a list of bugs you see or stop posting in here, OK? This thread is to make a comprehensive list of the bugs that need dealt with, and possibly their priotity.Last edited by DChronos; 08-26-2007 at 08:44 PM.

08-26-2007 #48if someone does not share your opinion, it's no reason to get rude ! We have been talking of a bugzilla or other form of bug reporting system here. Listing the bugs in THIS very thread makes no sense to me.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsErr0r started the FIRST POST in THIS THREAD by LISTING A BUG. LISTING! LLLLIIIIIISSSSSTIIIING, not discussing! Look up the definition and get it right! You're being rude by trying to tell me and everyone else that something clearly written in the very first post by the site admin is not what the thread is about, and trying to tell the people contributing they aren't doing exactly what they ARE doing: contributing to the purpose of the thread.
Err0r, if you want to delete these useless posts, go ahead, because I'm done telling him this thread is for LISTING bugs for you, not for discussing how to figure out making a way to start thinking about heading towards the direction of imagining how to make a list for bugs. If Bobby isn't bright enough to understand your first post stating to LIST the problems, and you starting off the first post with the first item in the LIST, well, I'm done with it.
EDIT:
Thought it might be of worth to mention I finally got this back from Yankee in response to my e-mail talking about opening the firmware and pointing them to the "A moderate Proposal" thread:
Doesn't sound like this is anything different, if you ask me.

Lets try and keep this to a list of bugs that users are experiencing, without having to delete pointless comments that are not relevant to the topic.
As such I see no reason for anyone to need more than one or two post in this thread there are many other threads where disscussion\debate can take place.
