Upgrade my firmware after applying skin?

I have a brand new S 1.010 miniplayer and I was wondering if after applying a skin to my player could I upgrade my firmware to a newer version, should one come out?
Also, if there is a faq page for applying skins, a link would be appreciated.

Yes, you can upgrade without problems.

A FAQ for applying skins? LOL, apply a skin isn't a complex process... just copy the Resource.bin file in your player's root and restart it. Be sure you use a skin created for the version of firmware you have, in your case a V1.010 skin

yup, just as marcelo said. needless to say, once you upgrade, your current will no longer be usable for the newer firmware unless someone ports it to the new firmware.

hmmm, so if i have a s 2003.1 update i wont be able to use the skins made for prev firmware versions?

No, you cannot use previous skins for previous firmware versions for newer firmware versions. That's why people update their skins when a new firmware is released.

or another option, as i have come across a topic just mins back,
i can use the skin converter?
is that reliable?
