Updating Music Library - New Bug?

Hello!

I've discovered that if I try to power on the m6 while the hold switch is locked, the player will update the music library the next time I turn it on. I'm able to reproduce this behavior consistently, so it doesn't seem to be a fluke.

I wonder what causes this...?

Anyway, I just thought it was interesting and wanted to share.

PS I've got the 8gb m6 in black, with firmware S2.002.3 (modified with the Inferno skin which, by the way, is fantastic!).

If you try to start the player with the LOCK button enabled it will do a forced shutdown similar to when you hold down the enter button to reset the player when it freezes. The player will then do an update on the next startup because it did not shutdown correctly.

I am not using the hold switch anyway, but I see how annoying this would be. The trick with the archive bit won't help as well I guess ?

<LOL>

I didn't do it on purpose! I'd forget that I locked it and turn it on while it was still in my pocket so it would be ready by the time I'd put on the headphones...only to discover (to my confusion) that it was still off.

Hee hee!

If there's one thing I could live without, it's the "automatic update" - it drives me crazy!
