is it me or is everyone neglecting the freeware programs that can take .rar too??
Those programs are freeware cause the programmer gives them away for free, they do not charge for it in any way

BobbyQ: i never said anything about not giving back....i give back plenty im just saying, if somebody wants to give you something for free there is no reason not to take it, what comes around usually goes back around...you'll probably end up giving something back eventually anyway, if not to him/her then to somebody else

There is more to WinRAR than just compressing and decompressing files. It is also a solution for backups and for creating self-extractings and installers.
If I'd know another good program that can do that for free, I'd take a look at it. Of course I have already paid for WinRAR, but you never know others might be better. Nobody was speaking of paying money for extracting .rar archives.

Maybe we could just close this thread in mutual agreement. Please ?

If someone needs a full version of winrar he just have to pm me! and to the admins/moderators i want to ask: don't remove this message, warez are legal just like this message if you do it on the right way!
