Unzip firmware files (M6.EBN and resource.bin) to anywhere on your computer.
Turn the miniPlayer on and connect it to computer through USB.
Copy firmware files in miniPlayer's root directory (The directory containing the folders MUSIC and PICTURE).

i dont under stand what that meansssss

copy the 2 files called "M6.EBN" and "resource.bin" into your miniplayer. The 'root' directory refers to the folder you are in if you doubleclick 'miniplayer' from 'my computer'. copy the 2 files into there and restart your miniplayer. then copy the resource.bin file back into the miniplayer when it turns on a green or white screen.

It always scares me a little when someone who doesn't seem very computer literate wants to upgrade. Is there something that your player isn't doing that upgrading will solve?

If you are just doing it to do it, I'd play it safe and just keep the current firmware in place. If you know why you're doing it, and have a specific function or fix that needs to be addressed, then do it.

Don't wanna be rude or anything, but they should start issuing licenses for operating electronic equipment. Not everyone seems to be fit to handle these things, even though they are sold everywhere and everyone can buy them.

bege: This isn't to be mean, but I seriously suggest you find someone who is a bit more computer literature to do this for you if you are concerned. There is a chance you might mess it up if you don't hold the right buttons/do the right things. Rather be safe than sorry.

I guess if unzipping files and transferring files to an external hard disk works similiar as on a pc, there is nothing different between mac and pc. and that's all you have to do.
