player takes firmware as normal files

hey guys I'm new to the meizu m6 but I know that something is wrong with my m6: right now it works with Version S 1.010.3 (the ipod killer one...)

so here's my problem: when I try to upgrade the firmware files won't be hidden but appear as normal files in the root folder what effects, that the player won't be upgraded...what can I do?

There's no "root folder". Copy/paste your files in the miniPlayer's root (directly with "system", "music", "pictures"...folders).
You're pretty popular this morning, Dee Dee !

yeah it's not a folder called "root". the folder where music/movie/etc. is saved is the root...

so anyone who can tell me it won't upgrade?

Did you unzip/unrar the firmware into the root? There should be two files.

yes that's exactly what I did...

now I've got another problem. I tried to play a video converted with batman and now the screen is black and I can't do anything, even not turn it off...
do I have to wait until the battery runs dry?
    this must be a joke...

there's still the problem, that whenever I load up the the resource and the M6 file, the player says: no resource.

when I upgraded the player for the first time, the files were hidden. now I can see them in the folder as if the player didn't notice that they're some yummy stuff...

    help meeeee!

Are you sure you got the right firmware ? The problem you describe happened to me once, somehow the .bin and the .ebn file weren't compatible .. Just download the firmware list on top of this topic: M6 Firmware 2.003

1- unrar the files , and copy/paste the files on the removable disc icon, or paste in root (where all folders are)

    2. Disconnect your meizu, wait a few seconds and turn off your meizu

    3. turn on your meizu and wait until it turn itself off again

    4. turn your meizu on again .. if you get a message that some files are missing, repeat step 1 to 3

I always get the Update Error Message when I turn it on again.
When I connect the Player after that and just delete the resource and the M6 file and shut the player down and start it again, it runs on the former 1.1.03 firmware.
I mean: how can that be, if I deleted the resource file? there must be another resource file hidden and that's why my copied files are not recognized as systemfiles but as normal files I uploaded...kinda sucks don't you think?

pff weird problem .. You could try to enable the setting show hidden files and folders in windows and then browse your meizu .. Have you allready tried formatting the device ??

Formatting the PlayerPress and hold the ON/OFF and the “|<<” buttons together and until player turns OFF itself. You will need to load firmware files before this.

that doen't work on my player. it just turns off then.

It's not that the player wouldn't work on firmware 1.103 but I'd like to be able to upgrade it...

Weel, there is an option to format the player with the windows format tool, that should definitely do the trick. I don't know if you have an english manual , if not you can download it here: http://www.danedigital.com/UserFiles..._manual_DE.pdf

Go to page 62 of the manual (page 32 in your pdf reader) and read the instructions there how to format your player using Windows format.
