New M3&M6 firmware released to testers.

According to a Meizu BBS posting new firmware for the M6 & M3 has been released for testing. 50 test participants received the new firmware via email.

As a - soon to be - new Meizu user (UPS should be calling today), do I understand correctly that skins are a part of the firmware?

Say you have a custom skin and you install Meizu FW on it, it means you are back to default? And the skin makers have to update their releases to match the new FW... quite a bad thing I would say!?

A skin is like clothes to a person. The firmware is like the actual person, the internal organs whatever you want. You can change the 'looks' of a person by changing his/her clothes. You can also change the 'looks' of the miniplayer by applying a skin - one that suites your current 'firmware' (much like choosing the correct clothes at the correct time and place).

Apart from that, cool! Hope they release something that everyone's been wanting!

Any word on when the firmware will come out of BETA? I went to the link but could not really understand what it entails. Guess I need to learn Chinese.

It's about time, I haven't really been to happy with this last firmware release what with all the 4 different unmarked versions of it.

Finally a new FW:D hopefully they fixed this fastforward/backward Video contrast bug*please*.Only this bug has annoyed me (<< dont know?is this phrase in correct english, iam not a native english speaker:P)And maybe they add some new things?!

To directly answer your question, yes, with every firmware update, the skin (called "resource.bin") reverts back to default as well. because with every firmware update, the resource changes as well. Skinners need to make those changes in their own skins as well before they can be compatible with the new firmware. Not a bad thing at all, as it makes sure your skin supports all the options the firmware offers.

I wonder what this firmware will offer. I'm currently one behind because the latest one didnt fix any problems that i currenly experience (dont fix something that isn't broken!)

Yeah I think so, wouldn't get your hopes up people. Aren't new Firmware released every 2-3 months? So I wouldn't be expecting a new version till maybe Aug/Sep.
