Update times...

Hi i was just wondering if anyone could tell me how long on avergae it would take to update your music library on your minipalyer (especially 8gb that is nearly full). I have a minipalyer on order, and wondering if i should get the firmware that introduces auto update, because if it takes too long, i might not get the latest firmware, and instead wait for an option for auto update or not.

Cheers

You can always change firmware back to older ones if you need to.

The update depends on the amount of MEDIA, not just music, on your miniplayer. This MEDIA includes music, videos, photos, voice recordings, radio recordings, and other misc. files.

It takes the longest to update the photos (especiall if you have a lot of them). But all in all, for a 4GB model with ~270 songs, 4 videos, 600 pictures or so, the automatic update takes around 40 to 70 seconds. The screen appaers to freeze towards the end, because it is actually updating the pictures, but it doesn't display the picture names.

It's either:

1. you have the 8GB model
2. you have a lot of media on it
