I think at least the first post should be read by Meizu Employees.
I hope MEIZU makes fixes to some of the listed bugs, we all hope that somebody at Meizu answers to this thread.


Ice-Orange at the Meizu Official forums told that the new firmware will definately kill all video problems. It seems as if they read this thread, cuz our highest priority is related to video problems also.

I made this topic to give MEIZU user feedback and help improving their Firmware for the next release.

Please post your wishes for the Firmware version 2.004.

I would be very very happy if you add an adressbook to the M6, or make it possible to add event entries to the calender. (This is my most wanted feature)

My wishes are:
- bugfixes
- automatic albumcover display *1
- horizontal scrolling
- all languages activated **
- one more game
- more VU-Meter visualizations
- audio and video bookmarking and (resuming *2)
- change skins from the menu

** latest dane-elec firmware hanldes a multilanguage menü of 6-8 languages.
*1 uses any image in the folder where the music is and uses as albumcover
*2 is video resuming already built in?

31.When displaying ogg files the Album Artist tag will overwrite the Album tag! (Example:All oggs look like this ARTIST=Various Artistpluspartofalbumtag)

Offtopic problems:
Lets's talk about these problems:
I live in the EU, so an absolute volume limiter by effective loudness in dB of maximum 100DB makes more sense than a relative limiter.
I want to protect the ears of my little cousins from accidantely turning the player volume to 40. >100DB
The resulting question is: Is it possible to show a general DB loudness on the player interface, regardless what headphones are used?

1) Search Feature:
Owned an iPod Nano 2G before I bought a M6.
I definitively need a search function like my old iPod had because I do hear house most the time and if I wanna hear some remixes by one specific artist I caaaan't find em on the player and this sux hard! Playlists are to undynamic because I don't have some for any artist..!
Is it possible to add this feature in future firmware versions?!

3) When being in "current song played menu" and browsing other songs you arent able to get for example back to songs playlist.. You need to everytime navigate to the playlist and restart the song.

Resolving the video problems would be very welcom.

i just want (mov.) gif to wallpaper....

1. display albumcover which is in the mp3 file
2. display Sleeptimer in Main Menu (new in Settings -> Main Menu -> Sleeptimer -> On/Off)
3. option to disable the enterbutton between << >>
4. better random function
5. diplay lyrics which are in the mp3 file
6. long videos (>60min) are getting asynchronous
(7. faster library update)
(8. display images faster)
(9. display events in the calendar [seperate txt file])
(10. new simple [endless] game, like tetris [in horizontal mode, buttons -> bottom])

I just need a few things

1) Auto play on startup
2) A real on the go feature, where you can add playlist..etc (like my old zen micro !)
3) A better random play (I usually listen to the same title twice or more before all the song of my playlist have been played :s)
4) possibility to switch off the ******* automatic library update, very useless to w8 your 6gb music library update when you just add a video ... or charging up your battery :s

mpeg-4 support (*.m4a iTunes audio files!)

I'd like to see:

1) Use folders as Playlists instead of searching through album or artist or having to create an *.m3u

2) Resolved issues with converted videos freezing the player (converting the file 2 times does the trick but is a pain in the ass)

3) Support for other video formats, such as: *.mpg, *.mov or *.wmv (i do realise that this may depend on copyright laws)

4) Speed up time to power on player and going between music files

Other than the above, this is a nifty little gadget that is really catching up to the big boys of the portable audio market...

1. Dedicated main menu option for podcasts
2. Sorting by genre and star ratings
3. Turning on the player defaults to one of the following:
- Resume to the last played radio station before the player was switched off
- Auto-play the last played audio file before the player was switched off
5. Fix the inaccurate clock, the lag is just ridiculous
6. Correct the spelling for "background blend" option

Better ID3-tag support for the playlist.
i.e. be able to show Artist and Album.

1. Zoom in picture viewer.
2. java or flash-lite or other platform to install applications & games.

Sorry, but I had no problems viewing videos or converting them with the software, I've converted 20 Music videos, no problem.

6. ... but this are currently main flaws in design

What do you mean, dude?

-A faster boot-time like 1s instead of 10 (It's very pleasant on flash players like the Nano).I'm sure it's not a problem for Meizu devloppers.
-The possibilty of changing the function of the enter button (when you press it by inadvertence and you want to put the volume up you just scroll forward into the song and it's very annoying because it happens to me so much times)

- Something like the iSproggler. Sending the playing information to Last.fm.

- A black outline for the font. Would make bright fonts visible with a bright background.

Fix the worst bugs:

1. updates on every startup (when it was pc-connected)

2. incorrect clock

3. most languages are hidden in the `resource.bin`-file and cannot be selected in the menu

4. Release the feature of USB-host functionality

5. implement a game like pong (no buttons needed)
