    Changing firmware, how to do?

I got my miniplayer apparently with firmware S1.010.
The flash RAM includes a SYSTEM folder with following content:

    FM.INI
    SETTIGS.DAT
    SYS_NAVI.DAT
    SYS_MTPDB.DAT

No idea where the firmware is really saved because in the root there is nothing to see but the folders for the content (pics, movies, music).

Can I savely try firmware modifications copying resource.bin and M6.EBN to the root?

It would be kind, when somebody could repeat saying how to save a fm station list.

Yes, as long as the modification is properly made and the author hasn't messed around with HEX codes. resource.bin is enough, no need for M6.EBN.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

As in the M6.EBN and the resource.bin end up in the system folder, or it just has a system folder that has lots of extremely important files in it?

system folder as like it seems the files to make the player work go there...
there are NO video audio of whatever files in the system folder...

if i put the new resource file in the root directory of the playerit doesnt work..
should i plce it in the "system" folder?

i haven't really taken a look at my SYSTEM folder but you have to put the resource bin into the ROOT of the player and not in any folder for it to work. after you put the resource file in the root, just unplug the usb and then restart the player.

There are some files that extends functionality, with customizable and replaceable content, those files are (if someone has some computer skills) like dll or xml files needed for a program to run.

Since those files should be modified while using the player (for instance, when you save radio stations) there's no point on having them inside the firmware (firmware files are not located on system file). Firmware is "printed" on main processing chip of M6. After upgrading firmware the miniplayer deletes those files. Why? Because there should be an endless process of upgrade each time it boots.
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

    ok thanks

then why does my player give me an error message is i try to load formware 1.010 I pickted the TP version(thats for the older players right?)

    what I do is:

I download the RAR file from this forum
extract it into the root folder of my M6
delete the orogical rar plus the M6.something file and just keep teh resource.bin file in my root folder.
    I unplug the player,
restart it and it gives me themessage "i[grade in progress" and then "upgrade failure"or something and then the screen gets stuck on some weird screen with some random letters

If i reconnect the player, simle removie the source.bin file and restart it it works as normal again using firmware 1.009 without having to re-upload it or anything

    what am i doing wrong?

hi job. i'm not much of a troubleshooter but let me tell you what i did and maybe it will help you.

    1) download the rar file and extract the files into you computer
    2) plug in my m6 and upload BOTH the m6.ebn and resource.bin files to the m6 ROOT
    3) unplug m6 from computer and restart the player
    4) i get an error message. i plug the m6 into my computer again and upload ONLY the resource.bin
    5) unplug the m6 and restart the player again.
    6) voila! upgraded firmware!

as you can see, i never deleted anything from my m6. and now i am happily using the t1.010 FW. hope you'll be able to get the t1.010 on your m6 soon.
