I am happy with my default language setup of English. What I want is the ability to ALSO read other foreign language encodings e.g. French, when displaying .txt or .lrc; but I would like to retain English as the default language.
I don't think the above is possible (my French .txt did not display French) but I do not want to have French as the default language (i.e. change the firmware to use french firmware).
I'm thinking, if I can replace one of the CHinese Languages in the Language menu to French, I'll be OK i.e. I can then switch to French whenever I need, and switch back to English whenever I need.
Has anyone tried the above? If so, please provide instructions or pointers to where the RTFM is.
Thanks

the 2.002.3 firmware here :
[MAJ 14/01] Firmware 2.004.5 Fr ( accents ok )
is built like this.
You've got French and english language, I replaced the first chinese one.
But in french one there's a problem with displaying é, è, à ... as this is a chinese language set, that's why people replace english by french
... the more i try to speak english, the badder it is ... i'm a poor french lonesone cowboy !! ^^
PS : use this to make your own translation :
New M3\M6 Resource Editor 1.22
only the 1st, 2nd and 6th languges are avalaible .. don't ask me why

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThanks, I'll give it a try. You built on the firmware version that I'm on and that I'm happy with.
BTW, I tried to do my own changes in the resource editor (RMB to language #7 on first view) after reading the CHinese help but the resource editor hung. Perhaps the resource.bin version is very old?
Anyway, you'll save me the trouble of burning my own.
BTW, DYK if I can back up my present firmware in case I change my mind about the new firmware?
Merci beaucoup,... je ne parle pas bien francaise
that's why I'd like to practice it on my meizu
