ok...i upgreaded...i must saythe upgrade process can use some smoothing out...
youhave to upload the source file 2 times, it resets all your settings(very annoying as the EQ setting take a while to get perfect again, and it delest all your files...
Love the meizu butthis needs some work

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi,
I have 1.010 but the player was supplied in the UK and has the radio disabled. I have seen a post on another forum from a member who stated that s(he) had updated the firmware and that the radio was now working.
Would a "generic" 1.010 solve the radio problem or was the poster a fraud (Have sent email and forum-pm but does not reply).
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsSuccess. If you flash the UK ( Dane-Elec ) M6 with the 1.010 from Meizu then the radio works again and the volume restriction is lifted.

Nope, they shouldn't need to do that. Their firmware is on another device different than the 4g flash part. What they have done is not be backwards compatible with their flash format change.
What they could do, is recognize the change in format and convert all the files to the new flash format when they boot. This could get nasty if the user powers off the device while the conversion is happening, but the worst thing that could happen is that they have to re-format (or simply invalidate) the whole flash part which they are already doing.
I've successfully done this sort of thing on more than one device that I've worked on. Not rocket science at all.

SPatializer
Mode : Virtual 3D
Virtual 3D 1
PCE: 4
Bass enhance: 0
Speaker type.. Earphone or headphone.. mostly sound the same.

Whats the difference between the S version and the T?
Well i Tried the S version of the 1.010 update. Now my M6 won't turn on, the computer won't recognize it, and it only shows a white screen when i press the power button. How can i get this working again?Last edited by mikeywt123; 01-19-2007 at 06:56 PM.

I think you have just discovered the diffrence

The SP version of the firmware will not work on the TP player and vice versa.
The older players are TP versions.
The newer players are SP versions(the S refers to Samsung)
Due to slightely diffrent hardware in the new SP players they can not run the TP firmware.
As you installed the SP firmware and your player doesnt work you probably have a TP player.
To solve your problem connect the player to the computer install the correct version of the firmware. If the player isnt recognized by the comp try the DFU tools available on this forum too. With these tools you can acces the player and upload the new firmware.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsCould you tell me how best to decompress the .rar file on my PC? Or is there a different firmware I should download on my PC, rather than on a Mac?
thx!

@Laczinka : There is no better firmware, just two because there is two version of the miniplayer, TP and SP
@skyblue1 : Use winrar http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
@mikeywt123 : Bad choice of Firmware ^^
Use DFU tools, throw an eye here : DFU Tools

Thanks for the firmware link. This version is somewhat different from the version published on the official meizu site. For one thing it made my player switch to Chinese mode, which I was able to correct by:
- Clicking on MENU
- Selecting #2 from the bottom
- Selecting #3 from the bottom
- Selecting "English"
However, I had these problems with either of the firmwares:
1. Scroller click stopped working even though it is set to On in the Settings
2. WMA files still do not play in order (Tried renaming the files and everything) Meizu does not recognize the track# embedded in the metadata either.
Does anyone know how these can be solved?
