Unnessary Update Music Library (S2.003.2)

I just upgraded from FW S2.002.3 to S2.003.2.

It seems that with FW 2.003.2 the player always updates the music library when it is disconnected from the USB. Even if it was only connected to an USB power adapter.

With FW 2.002.3 the library got updated only when it had been connected to a PC. When the Player was switched off and you had connected it to a PC, it only charged and did not update the music library when disconnected. Only when the player was switched on and you connected it as external HD to a PC, it updated the music library right after disconnecting.

Not a very big deal, but just a minor inconvenience.

I am wondering if this is part of the transition to OTG. There are text entries in the firmware now for OTG so update may be necessary after a power connection to the battery pack which will facilitate the OTG process.

It seems more problems with the Update Music Library thing are starting to happen.

See this thread, for example.

If it only does this after connecting to USB, it's still not as bad as it could be. For some people (including myself) it slowly updates its entire 4 GB after every startup.

OTG means "On The Go". It is a function that allows to transfer files between two devices, without having to go through a computer.
