Mini Player 2.003.2 Officially available

Changes:

1. Support GIF animation
2. Eliminated some noise caused by corrupted mp3 files
3. Fixed some FLAC playback issues
4. Simplified the touch strip operation: cancelled the tap-up tap-down function. Every tap is now equivalent to the ENTER key.
5. When browsing songs or reading ebooks, can use the Previous/Next key to jump to the beginning/Middle/End
6. When reading ebooks, it's now possible to scroll line by line.
7. When updating database, now displays a progress bar and the filenames.
8. Changed the icon that appears when loading a video.

I really think they shouldn't have taken out the up and down tapping... now it really bugs me when I reach the bottom of the list, and I have to scroll all the way back up... usually you just tap downwards to go down... this will take awhile to get used to... and how if you only need to go 1 down or 1 up? Now it is even harder to do... :S:S

And also, you know how previously you can go to the next menu by pressing the >>| button? Now that doesn't work. Only enter or tap works...

They also changed the default background back to the old background, but not the OLD old, the one with the large M sign... different from v2.003.1
They also changed the company copyright from (C)2003-2006 to (C)2003-2007 :D

GIF background not supported still... Alright, found out the new stuff, now downgrading back to v2.003.1

yea, i really liked the up and down tapping... i don't get it.

I think we should give renewed effort to the move to get them to release the firmware to the open source community. Alot of the new improvements hasn't been very useful really. I will miss the tap as well, and I think they should have let users have to option to choose between the two. Why didn't they think of that?

More features that few really want, while doing nothing about some real issues and actually taking away things that people really like.

The up-down taps were actually very useful!

It's the middle-tap that they should have removed - that's one of the most annoying redundant interface characteristics, because (in songs) it very often middle-taps when you just want to change the volume. You have the Enter key for that!

This update is a write-off. What were they thinking?

The fast scrolling is still there (holding down the up or down key to fast scroll through album lists etc).

I haven't been able to quantify this yet.. but the hissing in 2003.2 sounds different.

I like the new firmware, the tapping can be done with FF and the symbol for loading video's is much better and loading goes faster (thats what i think)
But i have to say i liked the tapping also...

this firmware is verry buggy, when i want to scroll, it just enters, en so i go in the map i was selecting, but i wanted to scroll so i pushed the menu button, and then again i tried to scroll, but the same thing happend, i just could not select my music i wanted to listen with this firmware, so ive gone back to 2.002.3, il hope they fix this
