Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsyes, let's hope they keep paying attention.
if they get the major bugs fixed the m6 would certainly
be the ideal mp4-player. i already like a lot
but it has a few quirks to be eliminated (this auto shutdown
after only a few minutes gets ever more disturbing with time).
hardware is excellent but firmware needs some revisioning.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI've got my M6 last friday.
Out of the box experience is Sound quality is very good.
It's great to have active participation in such a product and they are doing something to update it to suit our use.
Initially, I upgraded to S2.002.3, the volume control was bad using the touch pad. If you left your finger at either end of the pad, the volume will either shoot up to the max or the min. That was very dangerous.
Then when this new S2.003.2 was out, I tried it out.
This was better. Tap up and down was incorporated in their GUI.
The main gripe
i had was visually:
1. The Text wasn't outlined or shadowed. (bad visually if any complex background is used.)
2. The equalizer display was on the opposite transparancy control compared to any other displayed. (almost not-visible at all)
I think there is more to improvement to this player to make it a great DAP.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe shoot-up and shoot-down you are referring to is normal. It is just like holding down the up/down key on the keyboard - you will just keep going up or down. Just don't leave your finger there.
The tap up and tap down was taken out when 2.003.2 (old version) was introduced, but through major complaints, they put it back in the new version in 2.003.2, which you have installed.
I am hoping that in future firmwares, they would allow change of text and text settings. Also, I thought the visualizer transparency thing was fixed? No?Meizu M8 MiniOne

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsNo, the Equalizer setting visualisation wasn't fixed on 2003.2
I also noticed that the volume gain setting is not the same for FM Radio, Video Playback comapred to Music playback.
FM radio and Video is always very soft with the same Volume setting compared to the Music.

Well, regarding the equalizer... it's completely a fake, apart of being a curious visual effect while playing, the bars have nothing to do with the music.
I attach a WMA file with a "chirp" (ie. a tone that goes from low to high frecuencies) -- the graphic equalizer should display sort of a peak going up from low to high frequencies. The displayed result is quite far from that.
What is more funny: the bars move while music is paused!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhat's funny is when you don'y play any music, and you turn the visualizer on, the first bar has its cap at the top, then drops down with time :D

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI just got my Meizu. It is even more delicious than I dared dream. I took it out of the box and turned it on to update firmware by hooking it up to my mac. The S2.003.2 was unzipped for my little SP edition. I dragged the unzipped folder into my Meizu root. Curiously, after I turned the device on and off and looked up the version in the "about" section of settings, the version stil read S.1.010.3. Does this mean my upgrade did not take? Thanks.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYou have to place the files in the root, not the folder with the files. Then it will work. Also give the player some time when upgrading.
Edit:
ok, you won ciborj.Last edited by jockeb; 04-24-2007 at 05:36 AM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI agree with Loy. While the fast up/down scrolling is intentional, and it's convenient in general (for navigation and seeking), it is a bad idea for volume control. Sliding your finger works just fine for volume control, and the fast scrolling makes it too easy to blow out your eardrums. Yeah you can set the max volume in the settings menu, but that's not too great because different tracks may be recorded at different levels, so I have to set it near the max anyway to handle some of my quieter recordings.
So I hope a future firmware update disables the fast scrolling for volume control only, and keeps it intact for all other purposes.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhat's the big deal? Just don't put your finger on the touchpad for no reason...
And if you need to scroll for volume, then just scroll, and don't hold it.Meizu M8 MiniOne

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI think visualisation gimmick should be removed or at least be able to disable in setttings, especially as its a fake and does not relate to music being played.
Meizu should be concentrating on real audio improvements not fake eye candy and useless things like games, calendar ,calculator.
If they want it to have fancy features then give us flash so we can make our own games and applications if we want them.
