MTP - DRM - Play for Sure- Napster
Hi,
after the announced support of DRM with the 2002.x firmware i was really happy to buy an m6.
i happily updated my m6 as the new firmware was released and was more than happy to see it working.
but now, after some weeks of using it with WMP11 and Napster i have to say:
DRM/Play for Sure/Napser support SuCkZ...
it looks like it works as advertised, but after the second time the player auto shutdown the DRM certificate seem to vanish and music can't be played back anymore.
this looks to be random, not matter how many songs are on the player, how long i play them back, if i pause them before auto shutdown or shutting down manually.
i hoped that the last firmware update would fix it, but no luck...
you could tell me not to use Napster, that DRM is bad and it's my fault for using a subscription service... but shouldn't it work in the first way?
right now Napster support just suckz and is not usefull
hopefully my new clix2 (on the way, stuck in customs) will do better - i'm sure it will be better... it can't be worse.JaToAc

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsright on.....
if meizu wants to become mainstream they need to fix these problems in the usa many people buy their music and it should work.
i use wmp 10 and 11 (i'm proud to say i love mtp) and most things work except playlists created on the windows media player and then transferred.
i dont have any protected files or i also would be upset...
i really dont think the m-6 has "play for sure" certification or they would be advertising it. i just bought a cowon d-2 and it now states on their web site that it is play for sure certified. i checked and could not find the same listing for meizu anywhere.
i would voice your feelings by going to the meizu site in china and emailing the marketing department they will pass on to engineering. thats what i have done numerous times and they always email me back and thank me for my input right before they delete my email without passing on.(joking)
you will love the clix i had a clix 4gb 1st generation and the second is going to be even better. i will probably order one when the 8gb comes out. just to let you know you can get the clix2 4gb for $195 deliviered in the usa at amazon. also the clix 2 was designed with microsoft for wmp 11 so you will be in good hands.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI had an iRiver Clix 2gb and I loved it. Unfortunately it fell in the bathtub (don't ask). I would have replaced it but I think that the Clix is over priced compared with other comparable players in the market. I never use subscription services so Meizu's lack of support doesn't bother me.
