could someone check and see if the new firmware has "genre" as a menu item..also does the playlist function work when you have made a playlist such as "playlist 1" and you have like 50 songs or more...in the past the unit work lock for long periods of time.

there's no "genre" menu. and i don't understand what's wrong with the playlists, sorry

is it just me that the album art wasn't transparent before? it looks like it is now a little bit.

transparent album art has always been implemented.

Sound level seems OK. Everything else looks nominal.

Has anyone tried MTP mode with this release? I haven't tried it yet.

Chinese menu's on mine. Don't know where to go to get english on the screen. Someone step me through the menu's to the language part.

Got It!

Press Menu once and go down 10 items. Select that one (Settings) and go down 7. You will run into language settings. Select English.

"Add to my playlist" menu item in browser's context menu is nothing new.
And my spectrum is still transparent.



Still no improvement on the id3-tags in the playlist.
Fucking shite, i hate this.
Another thng im irritated about is why did we get less colours to choose from on the menue-bar?! This changed a few updates back if im not totally wrong, i thought it was temporary, guess not. I guess we wont even be able to change it at all soon.
Maybe i sound lika an asshole but im getting tired of stupid implementations (like GIF-files?), usefull stuff disappearing and not improving on other simple stuff (like giving us the option to show the damn ARTIST-NAME in the PLAYLISSSTT!).

Sigh..

after update im finding problems with the now playing bar or what to say, it no longer shows where in a song its at, it just jumps randomly between 2 points :S sux, but this bug appears just when ive been jumping around in a song using that utility...

it also appears to me that the extreme sound problem at the end of certain songs is GONE, im not sure though, need confirmation, but if it is, its really good news fore all of us

seems that with this firmware everything is gone even worst..

too bad i just ordered the miniplayer

It seems you like going on a rampage every time a new firmware is released. Stupid implementations are better than no implementations - it's not like anyone's forcing you to upgrade.

Besides, the animated GIF implementation is something that many (myself included) has asked for already in wishlists of V1. It seems unnecessary that they are taking flak for abiding to wishes.

i have tried a video with 25, and one with 22 fps, and guess what...none of them worked.

i realy dont care if the video is 20 or 25 fps i dont see the difference

I dont remember ever loosing my temper or "going on rampage" on this board before when it comes to fw-updates.
You are right that its better than nothing but functionality/improvements on allready implemented stuff should have priority before adding new gimmics like albumart and gif-animations etc, i also want new stuff but it feels like they have ignored/forgotten alot of stuff we wanted fixed in the first place. I have had this player for a long time now, was one of the first to get it here in sweden last summer and since then i have waited for better id3-support but it looks like it wont happen.
Just a bit disappointed, thats all.
