Wishlist for Firmware V2.000.1

Why don't we make a wishlist post for the next firmware?
Well:

-ALBUM ART
-Same controls for audio and video
-Choose the time the meizu turn off if you don't use it
-You can set one photo or your choice as the meizu wallpaper, OK, and you can even set the wallpaper for music menu, radio menu, recordings menu or ebook menu. Nevertheless, when I enter into each menu, I always see the same wallpaper until I play a song, listen to the radio or record something . By example, I set a blue wallpaper for music, a red one for radio and a green one for recordings. I always see the blue wallpaper (in main menu and when i play a song) until i start to listen fm radio (then it changes to red) and it stays in main menu and in every menu of the player until I play a song again, and so on. I think it would be better that you can set (by example) a yellow wallpaper for main menu, blue for music, red for radio or green for recordings, and just when you enter into music menu (all song, playlist, artist, albums, etc) you can see the wallpaper of your choice even if you don't play any song, and so on (you can see the radio menu wallpaper even if you don't listen any station,etc)
I don't know if you understand me, because my english isn't very good.
-Fix noises when you are in FM radio mode and you use the buttons.
-I wish you can choose your albums by album art. (as in creative zen vision m)
-More languages
-Time record for fm radio? (it could be possible?)
-I only can choose Idtags by Artist, song or album. But ...Why not by genre?(as most of players)
-Rate your songs (Was it possible in older firmwares?)

I snipped a bit out of your post. I totally agree with the above points though. They are exactly the ones I'm hoping for. Even... they are the ones I'd hoped would've already been part of the firmware when I bought the player.

Also, I'll add the following wishes:

- better handling of multi-cd albums. When an album is made up of two discs, it'll mingle the songs, because there are two number ones, two number twos, ... I believe the correct way to tag mp3s like this is track #1 of disc #1 and track #1 of disc #2.

- in general, I wish the miniplayer wasn't so picky with id3tags. I've had to rewrite and convert tags of songs that I've had for years and that've played perfectly on many media players (computer software) and mp3 players. I don't mind it too much, but I'm sure someone a little less forgiving would mind it very much.

- the problems with correctly showing time info for VBR mp3 tracks. I've mentioned this before, and since I've mentioned it, I've used foobar2000 to fix vbr header, to rewrite file tags, and even to reconstruct mp3 stream... all to no avail.

Anyway, is there a certain release cycle for firmware? When is the next version to be expected?

give us back this Feature !!!

1. Bring Back SRS WOW
2. Fix up track times and track seeking times for VBR MP3's.
3. Remove/Reduce background noise during audio playback
4. Full Screen Album Art
5. Different Fonts for menu etc
6. More colour choices for menu etc
7. Menu and submenu transitions.

- fix the annoying clicking sound heard sometimes when transitioning between 2 tracks
- add reminder function to calendar
- auto shutdown timeout (like when you paused the player for a bit) should be user definable

edit:
- wish the fonts can be changed as well, just so skins will look even better. :D
- be able to load multiple themes and change among on the fly. current method is a bit tedious.

- Bookmark function for audio, (and manual bookmark function for video aswell)
a must have when listening to audiobooks.
- Multiple theme manager.
- BBE Sound Effects.
- Selecteble auto resume and auto play when on.
- Ability to delete folders and contents in browser.

- Album art
- Full support for scandinavian letters, åäöÅÄÖ
- Only the music in the MUSIC folder will go into the music library, i.e. I can have my audiobooks and podcasts in other folders so I don't get pieces of a book or a podcast when I choose random on All Songs from the music library.

Pls, develope support thai font too.
i think it easy for you.

- what about open source firmware? in most cases users are better than the actual programmers.
- SRS WOW or DNSe --> should be selectable (is this possible?)
- ebook support for .pfd - files (i know you wont do that, but please ..!!)
- more selectable languages
- better res editor

- BBE sound effect, if it's possible
- .pdf support in ebook

1. Fix track info screen with vbr, now it's showing random bitrates, just "variable bitrate" would do

2. User adjustable screen shutdown time, you can of course shut the screen by holding menu button for a second but it would be nice addition though.

EDIT: 3. increase movie fps to 25, if possible, even if it means to cut the quality. European dvd fps is 25. It would play smoothly then.

These two things are most important for me. I think they should focus on ironing out the bugs, instead of adding new functionality. First make sure that the things the miniplayer does, it does as expected. After that they can think about adding new stuff.

Play files by genre. Adding a tab for it, the same way you can choose to play by songs, artists or album.

I want to be able to change the settings so that the player doesnt turn itself off after a while when i have it on PAUS. shouldnt be to hard to fix?

My Sandisk Sansa E280 has this feature, but it is very useless because I didn't pay much attention when I filled this tag in the past.

About Resourse Editor:
Possibility to make the language to an .txt-file and just import it in to the resourse.bin.
Possibility to have all the pictures in one directory on the pc
(with the same names as when you save them from the resourse), and import them all at once.
Maybe someone here with the acknowledge can code this program? =)
