playlist problem--unit freezes

hi...my unit has 2.oo2.3 software and all works great except playlists. if i make a temporary playlist it works fine.. its when i save it as a permenant playlist like "playlist 1" that the unit locks up . my list is less than 50 songs...when i close the list and reopen i can go to a song and click it will take a minute to play and then it hangs up totally.....has anyone had this problem???? also forgot to mention all files are transferred from wmp 10 and the unit is in mtp mode....

i have a similar problem with playlists.
When I save the playlist and choose a song and play it, it will take up to a
minute to play.
While i wait for playing i can't navigate in the menu and the player freezes for
this time.
When the song is playing after this time, I can navigate in the menu, but if I
play another song in playlist I must wait again.

is anyone else having the playlist problem or is it just us?????

I have the same problem, doesnt take a minute in my case... more like 15 sec tops... but still annoying nontheless.

You could also try to use a smaller playlist, and have more playlists to accomodate for the problem. Use this program to create playlists in a snap!

I tried making a playlist with about 250 mp3's and it froze my M6 each and every time. Started to play the selected song 3-4 minutes later but couldn't change volume while playing.
After reading the forums dealing with this problem it seems the only current solution is to make the playlist much smaller. So I tried about 16 mp3's and the response and player worked fine.
Whether I can make a number of small playlists of about 20 ea, I don't know but will try that approach.
This is definitely a bug issue.
Just tried adding a second playlist of about 20 songs and it was a few seconds slow but it worked and played fine. So I guess the solution until a fix comes along is to keep each playlist around 20 or less.

I've found a way to add playlists and rename them via winamp, I use V 5.51. It quite simple to do. Just plug you M6 into aUSB port. Open Winamp and start adding Playlists to the player. You can name it anything u want and can rename the folder. Also you can randomize the music list in each folder.

However Winamp saves the Mu3 in the root directory. I had to place the playlist folders into the Playlist Folder itself in the root directory.
Also apparently unable to rename Playlist. Default is Playlist1, Playlist2, etc. Would be preferable to able to rename the list, according to ones preferences.

had my M6 SP for about 3 weeks. after trying the beta 2004.5, my unit freeze while playing a mp3. my playlist is less than 10 songs. this is the first time it froze. i had to use a needle to reset and all is working again. not sure what is the cause.
