    Dane elec NEW firmware

I was browsing through the dane-elec website and they dont cover their structure with index files -

    http://www.danedigital.com/UserFiles...eizu/Download/ take a look ,

S2002_3.zip - Im not good with the resource files ect , but on a quick scan through it via resource editor the fm radio function is in it , and it looks like a offical dane elec version - because of the backgrounds , May be old news but i havnt explored this site entirley , Also a load of other goodies in that folder,
    Bah , oh well

BTW - ive been looking through it more ,

    http://www.danedigital.com/UserFiles..._manual_DE.pdf

Look at page 67 on the right under trouble shooting , read it

    The player does not
    power on.
Check that the battery 's polarity is correct.
Check the voltage ofbattery. Replace it with a newone.
Remove the battery andinsert it again.
Check whether the HOLDswitch on the playeris ON
    (Switch to OFF position)

    thats what it suggests

and on the left it says
    If you disassemble or modify
    the product arbitrarily, you
    cannot receive free services,
and may be excluded from the
    scope of service.

I dunno what arbitrarily means , but it suggest to me that the warranty is somewhat still valid if the dissasembly is deliberate. ??? Is that right... I dont have a clue what it means , The fact that it says you can replace the battery is bizzare , And intersting. Anyway , Ill stop going on now , Please someone reply what they think

Is it any different than the Meizu 2.002.3 fw?

It's likely a part from the manual of the old Meizu players using AA batteries.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

The S2.002_3 firmware from the Dane-Elec site does NOT have the FM function and has the volume limits, just as all of the Euro Dane-Elecs have.

And I agree that the Troubleshooting section from the downloaded manual of the Dane-Elec site is using information from older and/or other models. The US version manual does not have this same information, only referring to a possible problem with the resource file if the player doesn't power on properly.

You will void the warranty opening your player up, but after speaking with my contact at Dane-Elec here in the US, you will NOT void the warranty by upgrading to the Meizu OEM firmware. In fact, there is still a reference in the US version manual directing firmware upgrades to the Meizu website. Please read your copy carefully, as this may be different in the Euro version manual.

So, at least in the US, they could not legally exclude you from making a warranty claim with that information still printed in the Owners Manual.

He did say that there has been some discussion regarding this internally, and that in the future there may be some type of limitation built into the players making them upgradeable only with Dane-Elec proprietary firmware. But my guess is this will be a ways off it if happens at all.

Hope this clears up some of the confusion.

    Mark,
nice to see you here. You may not remember me - I bought M6 in February, and shortly afterward we've had a short exchange about updating it's firmware.
Glad you could confirm that we in US can use Meizu fw.

i don't think someone will upgrade the m6 with this firmware(dane-elec)
the original m6 firmware is much better
(including FM radio and does not have dB limit) the only thing you can achieve with this firmware, is that you can get your warranty back as the firmware is from dane-elec itself
