    Bugs in 2.002.3

Just got an 8gb M6 Miniplayer and enjoy it however, have noticed 2 small bugs in the new firmware on the M6 8gb -2.002.3

    1) When playing a song(or in other screens) if I do a Long press of the Enter button(For example by accident), I get an error message that is a "Touch Error Status 0x00 with a choice to PLAY - Calibrate, or MENU-Exit? " This is some kind of programming error and this keypress needs to be locked if it is not to do anything.

    2) When turning on the player, when first pressing the ON Power to hold it to power on the M6, the screen briefly flashes if you press the On button as a short key press, before it comes on for the bootup process. Seems odd. Reading the FIXES that 2.002.3 was supposed to have(Sticky post in this forum), there is mention of changing the long PLAY press to a Short press to turn on Player - Mine still needs a long press so this wasn't fixed in 2.002.3 at least on my unit

I also have two questions :

Is there a way to add a song that is in process of playing to the My Playlist (Like an IPOD On The Go Playlist). The only way so far I have found to add a song to playlist is to look it up and add it while its not playing. If it can't be added on the fly, this should be added in a future upgrade.

The user manual refers to DFU Tools being on the CD that came with the unit but these are not on the CD that came with the player. What are they and where can I get them.

    1) this is not a programming error. this is for calibration of touchpad. as you said, by accident. by accident you can let a car run over your m6. is that a product fault?

    2) Since the beginning the m6 has required a long press to switch on. If not a accidental short press will on it too and that's not good at all. Pls refer to answer number 1.

Songs can be added to a playlist on the fly. Please read through the faqs on this site.

DFU is not needed unless your player suffers a horrible crash. And as usual read through or search this forum. There is a search forum in case you've not noticed.

Answers are more rewarding if one takes effort to find them. Having handed to you on a silver platter serves no one.

for your items 1 and 2, as kennyboy said, they're not bugs but are features.

as for your query on the playlist, there is no way to add a currently playing song to the playlist. it has to be added while it's not playing. technically, being able to add songs to a playlist without using a computer is described as "on the fly". at least, in my opinion. so then, the m6 IS capable of on the fly playlists. just not when the song is playing.

however, i do see your point that it would be easier to add songs to the playlist while it's playing.

I also find these "bugs" quite annoying. Another thing is that the m6 needs quite long to boot. And since 2002.3 it even updates the music database EVERY time i turn the player on. Any way to change this?

The FLASH is not a bug, and as a matter of fact it is useful.

You'll notice since 2.002.3, you only have to press the play button until the flash turns off (=very short time), then wait for the player to turn on. No need to press play until the "Loading..." message.

yup, someone has pointed this out before. although this is true, the whole boot up process is still too long, in my opinion.

The flash might not be a bug but it isn't pretty either

start up time is too long...

Instant-on requires a small but constant use of power, which would reduce the battery life. I'm happy waiting for the boot up rather than finding my battery dead more often.

I guess we have different interpretations of "On the Fly". I mean where you can be listening to a song(Now Playing) and hit a key to add it to the "On the Go Playlist", like the ipods do. The M6 cannot do this - they can only be added by browsing to a song(either in browser, or sort folders) and adding, not a Now Playing song.

@Guitar1969: Meizu can do the 'on the fly' thing. You just have to press and hold the enter key when you browse for songs in the different folder.the selected song will 'blink' and will be added in playlist.

What Guitar1969 is saying is that you cannot dynamically add tracks to the currently playing playlist. It would be great to be able to do this. RockBox (www.rockbox.org) has great playlisting features: insert, insert next, insert last, insert shuffled, ....

No it doesn't - browsing to a song not playing and adding it is not "On the Fly". What I mean is adding a "Now Playing" song - the one you are listening to, to a playlist with a keypress while its playing - The nano and others do this, but not the M6

try not to touch the slide buttons while the m6 is loading, this will cause the m6 to get errors cause the m6 tests the slider button first...

It would be good if the touch pad calibration feature was removed and a long press of enter while playing added the song to the play list.

Calibration is performed at turn on.

Fast forward in long video (over 1 hour) causes the playback to stop.

I find with the new firmware, when clicking a song on the Playlist it takes forever to load...it lags for 15 seconds and then finally plays. Is this a bug? Can it be fixed?
