Spambots

Lately, there's been way too many. I suggest that we make a forum that only the "Stalker" level can see, and they'll have to be promoted manually by an admin or mod, to be able to post elsewhere.

Care to elaborate on what you mean by stalker?

It's the "rank" when you have no posts. I'm a "Junior Member", you're a "Member", you get the idea.

a stalker is someone with 0 posts? Not really a nice term to use

That's what I was thinking, but I hadn't seen anyone with no posts in a long time so wasn't sure.

But anyways, that's my proposal to help isolate the spambots until they are confirmed as humans.

Sounds like a good idea. Maybe he should clear out the members that have 0 posts also that have not logged in in a certain amount of time, like about 6/9/12 months.

I don't think that's necessary. It's not that bad. If it was worse, I think it would be better if there were members that could delete the topic if it were spam. Or you can have it where if so many people report the topic, the topic gets deleted.

I manage Zetaboards forums, it's not possible there, but I'm not sure about vBulletin.
