Virus threat!!
Hello,
I was browsing the forums earlier when I suddenly got a virus after following a link to a review on DAPReviews. The link is in the first post of "Meizu E3c [user-review]" thread. The link worked and the review page loaded, but just after that I got alert windows from Norton Antivirus and AVG Anti-virus. Nevertheless a trojan (Hacktool.IE.Exploit) infected my PC; it took me some hours to remove the pest completely. I recommend alerting someone at DAPReviews about this. For the sake of completeness, both my anti-virus programs are up to date and I run a complete scan once a day with AVG. I also run daily scans with anti-spyware programs (Spybot and Ad-Aware SE) and a complete scan with Norton Anti-virus weekly.
Best regards.
Edit: wrong references to the original poster of thread "Meizu E3c [user-review]" removed.Last edited by Almoxil; 06-18-2007 at 02:03 AM.

Motherly, I should say, "With linux and firefox ..." :-)
Enjoy your exiting times, if you are surfing with windows and ie, maybe you have a user for surfing with admin-rights too! It's much more exiting :-))Small moves, Ellie, small moves.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI'm not questioning your choice in broswers, Almoxil but if your using internet explorer, you should find alternatives because as you have found out IE can cause you many headaches. Though some sites require that you use IE most do not. Now I'm not necessarily saying move to Firefox, but some other alternatives are there too. and now you even have Safari for windows. Crazy apple and their porting of their apps to windows. Besides IE is not fully up to web standards.
But it is good to hear you removed it, but I try keep my front line defense as tight as possible.
Later.

Apologies for mentioning your name in that post, Zaan. I recognize my mistake, and already edited the post to remove the wrong references.
About using FireFox, yes, I'll consider it. Nevertheless, I think someone at DAPReviews should be warned about that link, since they can't assume everyone browsing their site is using FireFox and not IE.Last edited by Almoxil; 06-17-2007 at 09:37 PM.
