Another question.

I use a translated firmware.
Chinese has been changed to french ... but still have some problems with specials characters as "é" or "ê" that appears with chinese font.

Is there a way to correct it ? Maybe with the "DEFAULT" in the font.txt that i could change, but don't really know ...

If you choose french as the third language option (paste the words to the 6th row in resource-editor), the characters should appear correctly.

Yes I know that, but I want to keep english and just add french, so that I can make a skin that works for both languages

Hi,I'm the m6 fan from Chinese MeiZu BBS.First thank you for your perfect work.It's really good use.And some people in MeiZu.Come BBS have already make it with GUI.So it's more simple to use now.
And I have a question.Now the new firmware(2.004.1) has came out.It adds some new factions.Besides the ape,the title will be amplified when you choose it.The problem comes.The font is still the original(not the new which the tool has changed)So could you update your tool?If so,we'll be more enjoy using the m6.

hhm after reading this thread 4 times and tryed all things..but still it is saying:

importing
failed to open input file!

these files are in one folder.
m6_font_import.exe
resource.bin
font_info.txt (saved as unicode
(this is what is typed in font_info.exe:

Century Gothic
DEFAULT
700
0x0021 0x00ff
0x0400 0x04f0


i open it in cmd with this command.

C:\documentssett.....>cd C:\

then

C:\font\m6_font_import.exe resource.bin font_info.txt out.bin [enter]

then it says failed to open input file

i prob do something wrong but i don't know what..
can someone help me with that?

how it worked?, well not have it in C:\font\ but just in C:\.

now, put the out.bin on m6 changed the name in resource.bin
restarted m6 doesn't work.

i'm sorry but it isn't working on my meizu.
it does not changes the font with me, only the resource.bin file to out.bin file. then putted out.bin on meizu rename to resource.bin and restart the m6.

and i really don't know what to fill in the Range of characters to import.
that is probably the problem, i tryed alot of things in there.


and i did exactly what's typed in quote, also do it in C:\ directory elsewhere did not worked with me. only i used an other fontname.

Extract to "m6_font_import" folder and copy the folder to C:\
Edit the font.txt file in notepad and enter the name of the font you want to use.

EG:
One Stroke Script LET

0x0400 0x04f0

Then save the text file.

Copy the resource.bin file you want to use to the font patch folder.

Click on start menu and select run then type in "cmd" to open a command window.

In the command window type "cd C:\" and press enter to go to C: drive.
Then type "cd m6_font_import" and press enter to go to the font patch folder.
Then type "m6_font_import.exe resource.bin font.txt out.bin" to run the patch which will create "out.bin".
Copy out.bin to your player and rename it resource.bin then reboot as normal to load the resources and your new font.

The easiest wat to check out what fonts are available on your PC and their names is to use something like Microsoft Word to preview the fonts in the drop down menu.

To know "the Range of characters to import" you need to go through Start/Programs/Accesories/System Tools and then select the Character Map. There you need to select the font you would like to import and then you get the hexadecimal range simply selecting the inicial character you want to import and the last one. At the bottom left of the windows you´ll see the numbers. For example, with Arial the first character is a "!" and the hex you need to put in the font.txt file is 0x0021, assuming you want to import only characters until the "z" then the other limit is 0x007A. Hope it helps

You are doing right but you need to be sure to be using the SAME version of the resource.bin file you have on your meizu right now. I did too that mistake, it´s a bit of a mess the names of the different versions of the firmware that are around

yeah i'm using the same.. 2003.2
but to be shure i installed 2003.2 again and tryed it, no succes still not working.

Well redownloaded m6 font importer and tryed again it worked!
i think it had to with the font.txt file saving as utf16 or something now i just saved, instead save as.

Ok, I'll add a parameter for separate importing. But now I'm waiting for the final release of the firmware cause it seems that developers made a mistake with these new bold fonts.
The problem is: width of some glyphs in the new bold font is greater that 24 pixels, it means that at least 4 bytes per glyph line is needed. But glyph size has fixed size equal to 72 bytes => maximum height of the glyph = 18 pixels!?
But visually the height of many glyphs is greater that 18.
Or I do not understand developers in Meizu or they made a mistake. The last is more probable cause I found that some glyphs are clipped in a very strange way...
So, waiting for the final release...
