PS: I tried both CHINESEBIG5 and GB2312 and they both don't work for chinese traditional fonts. I heard something about GBK. What is that? Will that work?Meizu M8 MiniOne

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI can confirm that this program runs under Linux when using Wine. In Terminal, you just cd to the folder where the .exe, font.txt, and the resource file is, then run "wine m6_font_import.exe resource.bin font.txt out.bin". then put the out.bin in your meizu's ROOT folder, rename it resource.bin, unmount the player, then restart. Just like in windows.
BTW, has anybody tried this with the M3's firmware, or will it only work with the M6's?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsOK, I have got it this thing to work and this is how I did it:
For Chinese fonts, you have to make sure the font filename in the system is in ENGLISH, not chinese, and the name stored inside font.txt is in english as well. System language does not matter for chinese, just set all font.txt files as DEFAULT. You can also install 2 different fonts for 2 different languages. I think this is mentioned somewhere, maybe madman did. But I got it off Meizu BBS and it works. Below are some quick snaps I took with new chinese traditional and english fonts.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI've got a Robotech font that I've wondered how it would look in a skin styled after that series. Themed skins would look just great with fonts from what they are themed after. :D

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYou cannot make the font size bigger. You can only adjust the thickness or boldness of the font. The font size is dependent on the original size itself.
As requested, my skin shown above. It is for the newest firmware of M6, v2.003.2.

Ubuntu Titling english font is cool. I like it. I found it at
http://www.dafont.com/ubuntu-title.font
FYI:P

oh, i downloaded that one
one problem with the one on dafont is that there are no capital letters
so i found another one that contained capital letters at:
http://betatype.com/node/19
except it's an opentype font but don't worry because it works perfectly fine
(also the download is in .gz format which you can open with winzip or winrar anyway)Last edited by gilliu00_; 09-08-2007 at 10:08 AM. Reason: added quote

you can download it here
(use internet explorer to download)
1. Install the font
2. Download the tool and extract to C:\meizufont ...(or watever u want to cal l the folder)
3. Create a new text file and name it ch_font.txt
4. Put this in it
DFYanKaiW5-B5
DEFAULT
500
0x4e00 0x9fa5
You can change the 500 value, it's the weight of the font, adjust it accordingly.
5. Open command prompt Start>Run>cmd.exe
6. Navigate to the folder... cd C:\meizufont
7. Type in the command to run the program
m6_font_import.exe <original resouce file>.bin ch_font.txt resource.bin
(make sure they are all in the same directory)
8. Copy the resource bin to the player
9. Restart the player
10. Done, now you have modified chinese font
However, just a few notes:
- The font DFYanKaiW5-B5 only supports traditional chinese so simplified chinese is not supported. However if you are after simplified chinese fonts then you can have a look at www.font.com.cn Just make sure that the font's you download have english names
- This is only for changing chinese fonts, if you want to change only english or both, please refer to previous posts.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsCan this be set up to run not in the C: directory? I would rather place it into the Meizu folder that already exists in program files with DFU Tool inside it. I prefer not having my C: directory cluttered with programs when there is a whole folder dedicated to programs already.

If you understand Chinese they have added a GUI so you don't have to use the command window.
