Hello everyone,
today I saw an interesting product in an electronic shop - MITONE MITSP6. These are wireless speakers. The interesting part is that the speakers can be charged in the docking station. If you want to listen to the music you can remove the two speakers and place them anywhere you want.
Unfortunatelly these speakers are part of an iPod docking station. So you can only use these speakers with an iPod. Well, I do have an iPod, so that is not a problem.
So, here are my questions:
1.) Does anyone know the company Mitone? (I didn't even find an website...)
2.) Maybe they offer an universal wireless speaker/docking station (aux-in) so it would be possible to use the M3/M6/M8 with this great concept. Or is anyone aware of an similar M6 docking station with wireless speakers? I don't want to use a (wall) power outlet for the speakers to use them or an extra battery charger for the speakers. I really just want to place the speakers on the docking station and they will be charged in that position. If I want to use the speakers I can simply take them away and place them anywhere in my appartment.
Thx,
Hendrik

If it looks like two orbs with docking stations, then yes, I have seen the product in a branch of Circuit City (The Source). I'm sure the brand is made from a different company taking the credit. In Canada, RadioShack took the credit from a company now known as Nexxtech and rebranded all their products as their own [RadioShack's].

They're pretty much the same thing, charge in a dock, made for iPod, wireless. On M6 compatibility, all modern speakers have a AUX in, so just plug your M6 in through a normal headphone jack to the AUX input on the speaker dock, and you should be set.
Edit: Google came up with nothing, so they're probably knockoffs of the griffins, but who cares if they work well, and hey, they're probably cheaper by tenfold.Last edited by hli53194; 01-03-2009 at 11:50 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts@JKPwNsTeR: yes, the speakers look like two orbs
@mbarry: The Mitone speakers are much more beautiful than the Griffins
Unfortunatelly I couldn't test the Mitone speakers in the store so I have no idea if they are worth the 90€ (~125$) price tag.

If they have a good return policy, go for it.

Go get them, if they sound terrible, return them. Just as an FYI, the Griffins cost around $400.

I'd rather buy a home theater system with wireless rear speakers instead...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsSo I bought the speakers a few days ago, mainly because they were sort of cheap, stylish and a sales/ad sign promised a radio function, an alarm clock and a remote control.
They are very stylish! (Unfortunatelly I didn't make a picture.) The speakers are very heavy and the finish is superb. There are blue LEDs at the bottom, which are really nice. The sound quality is OK, didn't expect more of these small speakers for that price. The wireless connection is good, there weren't any disturbances.
The speakers will play for 3-4 hours according to the manual. There is a automatic stand-by mode so it is possible to use the built in alarm clock of your iPod to be waken up in the morning.
Unfortunately there was no built in radio and separate alarm clock. Actually I don't need these features but there was also no remote control. And that's a pity.
So I gave the speakers back. Mainly because there wasn't a remote control but also because the speakers would only play for 3-4 hours, which is very short.
