Mine lasted a little longer - broke in about four months. Unfortunately I cannot get it replaced here:-( Good sound but poorly designed plug / wire. An L shape plug would last much longer!

my pt's actually survived for over three whole months. And i used them about 3 hours a day average. I dont agree with pico saying a L shaped plug would last longer. My player is always in my pocket and L shaped plugs never lasted very long.

The plug is not repairable. The earbuds are!. when you have a 'wire break' (inside wire the copper wire broke) you can easily open up the earbuds and fix the problem.

I still use my PT850 about 3 or 4 days a week which I got with my first Meizu M6, and that was more than a year ago. However I'm using it with my notebook, so there's hardly any chance of broken cables

I guess all earphone's durability depends on how you use them. Personally I've been using my PT850 about 5-6 hours a day for almost 5 months, and they're still as good as new. Granted, I take good care of them, but I wouldn't have a right to criticize if I didn't do my part, right? :P

Regarding sound quality, I disagree with those who say it's bad. In fact, I was very surprised with the PT850 when heard them for the first time. Compared to other bundled earphones, they must be the best I've heard so far. Of course they are not even close to audiophile quality, but they should still be better than anything you can buy at under 25€.. they sure beat my Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopia hands down, and those cost me 35€ a couple of years ago.

IMO, if you want to replace the PT850 for better audio quality, you can't do it with cheap phones... at that point maybe it makes send to go a step further, spend a little more, and go for the MylarOne X3i's or the Audio Technica ATH-CK7 (these are probably my next phones ).

Usually players are bundled with crap, being better than that isn't a big feat. Beating Sonys isn't hard too. Koss KSC models, which you can get, depending on where you live for around 10 €, are by far better. Also the Sennheiser MX300, while not good, are better, they should also be at around 10 €.

The PT850 have too much kick bass, not much real, low bass, weak mids and weak highs. I find that sound characteristic rather unpleasant.
