Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHmm i happened to have some extra money in a paypal account of mine and purchased the MD-52 so we will see how good they are... I also recently purchased some skull candies ink'd in my quest to find the best phones for under $20. They were quite a decent pair though i didn't like the rustling noise you get when the cord rubs against something.... otherwise bass was pretty good even though the highs and mids are clear sometimes they are overpowered by the bass or it seems like the manufacturer just lowed the output of the mids and highs to make bass seem more dominate... then again this is only with some rap and heavy metal songs which in a sense could be a plus for bass heads lol just my 2 cents. Otherwise they were pretty comfortable and cord seems to stay true to itself. I still think meizu stock buds are insane.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI just received my Kanon MD-52s from futuredaps.com and let me say this these things are insane. Sound of these phones are the more balanced type like the meizu's stock buds. Mids and highs are clear and up front but not in your face, bass is reasonable and what i mean is its there but these phones are balanced compared to the skull candies i have that the bass is overpowering. I love the sound of these things. I'd just like to note I've never listened to any top of the line phones. But for $8.50 I'm very impressed I have found the phones Ive been looking for.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI guess my favorite ones were the Meizu P850 but the cable broke.
Right now I'm using Sennheiser CX300 and they're pretty good, isolate noize and have GREAT lower-bass sound (awesome for jazz, funk or rock)

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsReally…
I do read LOTS of reviews and tests about high expensive IEM’s in these days and I am thinking my next buy would be this kind of earphones…when I get the money of course. The Triple.fi 10 or higher model
Many people say they worth the money.
I hear you don’t need much adjustment on these…sounds good. You must really like them too.
May I ask you what you overall think about them? It’s there something bad to say about them?
They really don’t have much cons. to say about these on the web other than the price.

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsOkay, thank you leonick
I'm thinking I will go to have a pair too. They have great ratings on the net.
I actually have made much research on high expensive ear-phones even so much I could made a guide to you all which ones are the best on market right now.
Of course my view will be in the "Audiophile" way, so I won't take much care of the prices.
We have many buying guides around here about earphones with different criteria’s, but I haven't yet seen someone did take care about the expensive world.
What are you say everyone?
A guide of the best IEM´s money can buy?
I you find it useful I will make one.
Oh, forget about the orange ones from DX
They are SOOO horrible when it comes to sound quality.
I would give 1. place in the contest ”Worst sound ever”
Real bad (sorry) and they are not very comfortable too .

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostHi,
I'm new to this thread (and a bit also for this site).
I've tried akg k314p and found they sound great.
Only using the eq (no bass and trebble and no 3d effects).
What should be done to have them really sound great :
1 - use them several days when brand new (the sound gets better and better) : they sound a bit agressive at the beginning, but not anymore after using them for about 30 hours.
2 - set the equalizer to this : +4 0 -2 -1 0 -1 -7 -1 0 -1
the "-7" on 5khz is probably a bit personal, because I got an over-sensitivity in about that range, so just set that specific range to what seems to match better your own perception.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostMy pair of Skullcandy Smokin' buds have just arrived, and after a first quick try, I must say that I'm very disappointed.
They give out way too much bass (even with the M6 bass boost at 0), and the overall sound is muddy/clouded and without detail. Tweaking the EQ doesn't help much. IMO, the PT-850 are better: I can hear much more fine details and a way better "separation of instruments" with them. My old (and dying) Sony Fontopia MDR-EX51LPN are also way better.
I'm not sure if the Smokin' buds have any burn-in, but I'll try to let them play for a while and see if the sound improved. If not, then I'll start thinking on getting a REAL pair of phones next time, maybe the Audio Technica ATH-CK7.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell,
I got the two pairs of headpones I ordered: Sennheiser PX 100s and the Kanon MD 52s after reading about them here in the forums. Love them both.. although I have not been able to listen in detail as I currently have a Green / No resource screen in my brand new M6 SL. I am not partial to IEM phones... but for 12.00 shipped.. I just had to try the Kanons .. I tried them first... and when I put my Sennheisers on, I had to turn up the volum significantly. The sound was much warmer.... actually soothing.. balanced.... by the time I wanted to try the Kanons later... .. Green Screen.... still trying to learn how to get rid of it.Last edited by Blackstarz; 07-03-2008 at 01:31 AM.

Thanked 5 Times in 2 PostsHello, I am one of those guys who wrote euphoric posts about how good the dealextreme alu earphones sound. But that was just due to the fact that I never had the pleasure of trying really great earphones. When I listened to the k324p inear from a classmate I had to admit that these sounded better (though not that much).
About 2 weeks ago, I received my Kanon md 52s from futuredaps (12$ incl. shipping to Austria). Some people have already posted this, but they sound fantastic. Better than the AKG ones, better than KOSS PortaPro (these two are the only ones I have tried since I bought the Kanon ones).
They seem, though, to be very sensitive to moisture, once I had them in my pocket when it was raining heavily. The left one had about 3-10% volume output for a day, now its great again.
They look a lot like the k324p and fit the m6 sps colors perfectly. I used the silicon buds from crappy 3.50$ sonyfakes from dealextreme as those are a lot more comfortable.
I listen with Bass Boost 2 and PCE 2 (with the latter it's just more fun) at volume 3-16 (if it's very loud up to 24).
MD 52 against PT850:
MD52 all the way. The Meizu earphones sound scratchy and unbalanced. And they are very uncomfortable.

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsI prefer Kanon MD-52 over the Meizu earphone too by sound and comfort, but the build quality isn't that good. (See below)
Also I did discovered that the sound is varying from pair to pair. I did brought two of these and I did found out that my 2nd one didn't sound than well than my other one. The sound was unbalanced and bassier.
In that I recommend buying more than 1 of these if you need to be sure getting a good pair.Last edited by MeiVincible; 08-30-2008 at 02:54 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsi'm new here and am still waiting for my player to arrive. it's one of the dane versions and boy do i have questions!
anyway about phones... these are the ones i've tried:
sennheiser cx300
nice cans, in ear, easy to remove and replace, sound quality is fair. volume levels needed to be fairly high as i didn't find them as sensitive as the selection below.
shure se310
triple the price of most others, foams offer the best isolation, the sound is fantastic; great presence and dynamics along with full spectrum audio. down side is insertation and removal along with the cost.
JVC ha fx 66
these are my new favorites, great isolation, good range and dynamics, the cost was 26 usd delivered via amazon. inseration and removal is fair; not as simple as the cx line but easier than the shures. come in a wide range of colors; not important to me. i did once lose the ear tip inside my ear canal.
it was removed by my wife with tweasers <scary> not my wife, getting the tip stuck. lol. anyway my new everyday everywhere choise. these output sound levels as well as the shures.
i'd still be using the cx300 but after a year one of the buds hit the ground and popped loudly. i got a lot of use from these.
using the right tip is key to good sound on any of the above buds.
as far as (on ear) hands down winner is the sennheiser px100; great sound for the money! at home i have a set of HD545s i would need an amp and a wagon to use these with a portable. <grin>
been reading the forums for a few days, looking forward to the sl delivery!Last edited by ri_toast; 07-19-2008 at 11:49 AM. Reason: added another model

You will not be disapointed in the sound quality, that's for sure. Installing/upgrading software can be a hassle, so don't do it unless you absolutely have to, or if there is a major improvement in that software. Just remember "Don't fix it if it ain't broke". Welcome to the forums by the way.
