    sound recording

hey everyone! ...I am looking at buying either the M3 or M6, and I would specifically like to record my lectures in addition to music play. Can anyone tell me if the voice recorder on the Meizu would be sufficient to record lectures? Or would an ipod be better (I was going to buy an ipod before I found out about the Meizu).

    Cheers!

There is no recorder in an Ipod. But i think one of the Meizu players would be sufficient
And the Meizu players is much cheaper!

The voice recording in M6 is quite good, very sensitive, can record very clearly, and is directional too.

The M6 is okay for recording lectures, if your lecture room has lots of speakers. However, when i tried on mine, the recordings came out quite soft. If you want high quality field recording, I suggest getting a minidisc recorder. It has a mic pre-amp built in, so you can connect a bi-directional microphone to it and usually its a lot clearer (just be careful of bastards behind you whom like to shout and annoy you =P )

    recording lectures quite good

Even though this thread is old, I just came across it and I have some experience to give. I use my M6 for recording all my Italian classes and it is fine for the job. I wear it hanging from my neck in a little sock that the place I bought it from chipped in.
I listen later to the mp3 file and I never have any difficulty figuring out what the teacher was saying even though at first listen I can't even tell where one word ends and the next word begins. The only drawback is that my own voice is much louder than the others. But that is not a drawback of the recorder itself. (There is no recording volume control, but volume is never a problem).
