New phones, looking for >=$120
I'm a complete noob when it comes to headphones, but I'm looking for a pair with good sound quality that'll last a while. I listen to instrumentals, jazz, and a bit of rock and pop. By the way, I messed up the thread title, my budget is 120 USD.

Meh, no replies so far, but I can live with that. Right now, I'm looking at Audio Technica ATH-CK7's, Yuin PK2's, and Ultimate Ear's Super.fi 3's. They're all cheaper than $80, but I don't really know any headphones that would be significantly better for $40 more. I'm leaning more towards the CK7's than the PK2's or the UE's, but some advice would be nice.
By the way, I don't have an amp; I never knew that those things existed for headphones until I read about them in reviews. I don't really know what they do, save that they increase the volume of the music. I also run and bike a lot, lugging around an amp doesn't seem like a very good idea.

If comfort is an issue, try the JVC Marshmallows. Not sure how they compare to others in sound, but regular earbuds hurt my ears after while. These are by far the most comfortable I've ever owned.

I decided to up my budged to the 200 USD range. If I'm going to spend this much money for headphones, might as well use all of it. I'm looking for a good unamped IEM that would be good for the genres I listed above. Looking at the Super.fi 5 Pro's, Shure E4c's, and the Etymotic ER-4P right now.
For me: Sound quality > build quality > comfort

Decided to save up some more for the PK1 + Minibox-E+ deal which is 280 USD at head-direct. I don't want to deal too much with the IEM's right now because of microphonics and without an amp the hiss from the M6 would probably be magnified. From what I've read, this combo should last me a very long time, but I'd probably get a pair of IEM's later on to satisfy my curiosity. Sorry if I was being obnoxious, this is probably not the best forum to post this question in.
