I have just got an M6 SL. I find earbuds uncomfortable and don't want to use full headphones so I thought that I would give in-ear phones a go. I can't afford to spend a huge amount, so which from this list would be good for mainly rock music:
Creative EP-630 £20
Sennheiser CX-300 £29
J-Jays £35
Ultimate Ears Metro Fi 2 £40
Shure E110 £50
Sennheiser CX-500 £50
Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3 studio £55
Shure E3g £59
If I can get good performance at the lower price end then that's fine, I understand that more costly isn't necessarily better. As I said earlier, I haven't tried this type of headphone, so I don't have a clue about the ir relative performances.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAs I said, it's mainly rock so a lot of thumping bass isn't necessary plus the superfi 5's are twice my budget limit at £115.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Don't get any of those - get a pair of Etymotic ER-6i. The sound quality is fantastic and the sensitivity is like no other in the price range. I got mine from ebay new for £50 including P&P. I seriously recommend them.

I've heard that Creative EP-630 sound around the same as Sennheiser CX-300, so get the Creative EP-630 as they sound good and are kinda cheap.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThanks for the advice. I have ordered some Sennheiser CX-300 earphones from Ebay for a tenner. Not much spent if I don't like them.

You should just had bough some creative ones from a reliable seller/store.
Btw, I have heard that these are really really good: Futuredaps.com - Kanon MD-52 (Powered by CubeCart)
Cheaper than those Sennheiser cx300 fakes. And probably 100 times better. Also, futuredaps is a reliable store.

I just got a pair of the MD-52s. Wow! They sound amazing . They sound like 50 usd IEMs or something. Seriously. The sound is very clear, the bass is great, they block sound so good too. Woah. I really recommend those. Believe me, you won't be disappointed. If you need in-ear buds that sound great and don't cost a lot, get those! :D:D
The only downside is that there is a little bit too much bass, but it's not a problem, just set the bass to low and tweak the EQ.
(I'v tried them on a Meizu and a Teclast T39, amazing sound with both!)Last edited by DimaMP4; 12-27-2007 at 04:40 PM.

What earphones do you have? I doubt that anyone would find better-sounding earphones cheaper than those Kanons.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI just received the Ebay CX-300's and have dismantled them (as any engineer would :D) to check them against the info on how to tell the difference such as this:
How to tell the difference between real and fake Sennheiser CX300 - abi>>forums
They appear to be genuine as described and the sound is fine.
p.s. the Sennheiser CX-300 and Creative EP-630 appear to be the same with the exception of the cord and a straight as opposed to L jack. Rebranding is a very common practice.
