I have an iPod that's on its last legs. I'm in the market for something that I can use to listen to audio podcasts, an occasional audiobook and some music in the following proportions:
    • Podcasts 98%
    • Music 1%
    • Audiobooks 1%
My main concern is that it retains my place in every podcast I'm listening to. I like to jump from podcast to podcast and back again. My iPod keeps track of where I am in each one. I don't need to set a bookmark or anything, I just stop listening, go on to the next one, then go back to the first and I'm where I last left off.

Does this Meizu, or any Meizu, or do all Meizus do this? This is really my one single requirement for buying an MP3 player and so far the only one I've found that does it is Apple. Why is that? It seems so simple, really.

A podcast is like a radio program, only it's distributed over the internet instead of over the airwaves. There's a whole world of great content out there provided by some very interesting people like Leo Laporte.

I urge you to investigate and check some out. There's something out there for every taste and interest from politics to technology to woodworking to religion and on and on. Just google 'podcast directory' or 'podcast' and a topic you're interested in.

I think is interesting... but I am a music fan and to listen people telling histories sound a bit boring for me... anyway this could be the kind of things that could be added to an iPhone or a MiniOne... devices that seems to be designed to concentrate all that worth the interest of anybody... strictly everything... like News Weather n Sports... ending in a very expensive device not interesting in any way for a non rich guy that only wants to listen music in the best way and watch a clip or video from time to time.

I just want from Meizu a good MP4 with good sound and capable of display as much information possible of music... and please not connected in any way to the net... the rest its just an annoying disturbance.

I should have mentioned that there are many, many music podcasts as well.

Any MP3-capable device is able to play podcasts, as long as they're in MP3 format. My Miniplayer has some podcasts on it - and MP3 format audiobooks, though as far as I'm aware there's no bookmark function.

The Cowon D2 supports podcast with up to 256 bookmarks. Recently also added audible.com audio book support.
