Audiophiles HELP! MediaMonkey, WMP11 questions ...

    Hi,

I have a question for those of you who use MediaMonkey to rip and organize their mp3s. I really like MediaMonkey and have been using it, however, whenever I try to rip a CD it completely freezes my computer and I have to reboot. I'll try the CD again and it'll work ... anyone else having this problem?

Also, I started using WMP 11 to rip my cds and use MediaMonkey to organize .. however I feel the quality isn't the same. Is this a fact?

For MediaMonkey I was using the following settings:
    mp3 - 192kbps CBR .. joint stereo .. bit reservoir checked.
(Lame 3.97 encoder ... not MM's, but the free one with no limit)

Their aren't too many options in WMP11, so I was just ripping mp3s at 192kbps.

What's the best program to get the highest quality mp3s? (192kbps CBR)

    Thanks a million in advance!!

while exact audio copy is really a good one, I am still staying with AudioGrabber, which is also good but a bit easier to use.

Another vote for using EAC, as the name states its an exact 1:1 of your CD. (If you rip to WAV)

With Mediamonkey crashing, you might try using the newest version of the program, or try it on another computer and see if they same thing happens. If not, then its probably something to do with how your computer is configured.
