M3 vs. M6 Sound Quality

Hello there.... I am trying to decide between getting an M3 or M6 player. I'm not interested in video, but would like to get the best sound quality possible. Are there any audio advantages to the M6 over the M3? I've read hints on the forum that the M3 might even have less hiss.

Also, would appreciate recommendations for a good in-ear or canal earphone for the Meizu with good range of performance, including bass, and decent noise blocking - I'm leary of the quality control with the crossroad x3. - probably can spend up to around $75-100.

Hi Tod, though the M3 and M6 are believed to have the same sound systems, the M6 is said to have a minor advantage in bass output.
In terms of earphones, please use the forum search - that has been discussed a hundred times.

What I'v heard is that M3 has a bit improved sound compared to the M6, but a little less bass (theres still plenty of bass tho) And that the M3 has less hiss, a lil bit crispier and cleaner sound. The M6 has "stronger" and bassier sound.

the m3 has less hiss
the m6 has a slight hiss but nothing that will bother you

the M6 has a fuller bass while the m3 sounds a tad more cripst

overall they both sound great but i prefer my M6 over my m3 due to teh ease of use with the larger screen
